This three bedroom charmer is a cozy piece of this mountain. Set between the small town of Cedar Glen in Lake Arrowhead and Deep Creek. This little slice of heaven is very quiet and peaceful with the only sound being heard is of the stream running behind the property. There is a stone hearth with a wood burning fire place and a kitchen with all of the amenities you could need. We offer a beach pass to use the lake for fishing and swimming. This place is perfect for a great escape and a place to view the milky way as there is no street lights and the views are amazing. Come bring your off roading toys as its a quick skip down the road to the deep creek area for all of your outdoor fun or great hiking. This cabin has a very warm and inviting feel but it is also very remote to make you feel like you are up and away from it all.

About Kory Avarell/Janina Sheppard
I am a builder that built this home in 2005 after the fires of 2003 burned this whole area. It has been a second home for us and now we would like to share it with others.
Kory Avarell/Janina Sheppard purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Kory Avarell/Janina Sheppard chose Lake Arrowhead
This property is special because before 2003 this area was very crowded with houses and not so desirable. Now it is very quiet and hardly any neighbors. It is just down the street from Deep Creek where you can just take off and take your off roading toys.
What makes this Cabin unique
There is a nice stream that runs through the property all year round and it creates a very nice feeling.

Nice getaway. My kids were asking me to go back there in the Winter when there is snow. Hopefully, next Winter sometimes.
My family and I had a great relaxing time. Perfect for a weekend getaway
Great place with some limitations
Cute home in quiet mountain setting. Really enjoyed the home overall, especially the deck and firepit, open living area. Difficult to find if you are arriving for the first time in the dark, but Google is accurate. Baths not accessible due to high tub walls, shower doors, and no grab bars. Downstairs bed needs a new mattress. I would go again!
Relaxing Beautiful Getaway
My family of four and our black lab needed some time away from city life. The Alder cabin was the perfect retreat. We enjoyed walking around the mountains and exploring a bit, even spotted a beautiful deer out on an evening walk. The cabin is gorgeous and very spacious. Even though there is a TV we never put it on, we played board games that are onsite and enjoyed the swingbed out on the balcony. My family, including the dog, enjoyed the lake and some of the water toys. The lake in beautiful and I even went for a little swim, which is huge since I hardly get into a pool on a warm day. The arrowhead village is close and has everything you need, but I love that the cabin is further away and has few neighbors around. The fridge seemed to go in and out of being cold, but we made due. Our family enjoyed our 2 night getaway and will be looking forward to doing this again.
Great cabin in Arrowhead.
Very spacious rustic and comfortable cabin. Everything you need to enjoy the area. Right down the road from deep creek area. The lake pass with private dock and kayaks/SUPs are an added bonus.
The home is clean and has all the modern conveniences. We would definitely stay there again!
Enjoyable mountain vacation spot
We spent a very enjoyable 4-day weekend at this little cabin with family (4 adults, 4 kids). What an extra surprise to have access (short drive) not just the local lake, but to canoes and the dock as well. It made the trip so fun. We were surprised the area wasn't busier overall; it was friendly and populated, but not over crowded. And the location of the cabin you really felt like you were getting away. Some of the things we loved: The porches - we spent each evening on the upper porch, and time swinging in the loveliest swing on the lower porch in the mornings - honestly I wanted to stay there all day and read books. The bedrooms and bathrooms were simple but perfect for a little cottage in my mind. The house was kid-friendly as long as you didn't need a stair gate (we didn't). The kitchen was sizable and well stocked with cooking utensils. I loved the large kitchen table with big, comfy dining chairs.....made you want to sit and linger with a glass of wine. Oh - and I forgot to mention - Janine was so nice to leave us a bottle to share! So thoughtful!
Some things to be aware of:
There was really only seating for 3 in front of the TV (unless you pull over the dining chairs - which are comfy for dining but less so for movie watching). Some of the windows in the house did not open when we wanted to enjoy an evening breeze (Admittedly, this could have been incompetent operators...but we couldn't get them open). The bunk bunk beds in the kids room was very squeaky - safe I am sure, but so squeaky my son wasn't willing to sleep on the top bunk. If you have squeamish kids - just be aware of that. I wish the path to the creek in the back was fixed and more maneuverable. I felt fine going down them but the kids needed help navigating.
I share the "downside" things just so you are aware - but we really enjoyed the stay and would rent here again.
