What makes this Cabin unique
One of the great things about this property is that we are at 3400' and the nights are cooler and not too humid like it can be down in Hilo and near the beaches. There are also way less coqui frogs than down in Hilo and Kapoho. Our Host, Khadijah, offers private custom meals and massage services. She is an amazing and creative professional chef. Make your stay even more relaxing by having her help make your stay one that you and your family will never forget. You will meet her to get the key and code for the front gate, and she can help you with finding hidden gems on the island to explore during your stay.

Experience the island like the locals do
I cant believe how alive this island is. Just seeing the lava makes me feel like Im watching the pulse of the earth. Ive never experienced anything like it. Whats even better is that I dont have to return to a busy lobby, and restaurant. I live amongst the native trees and made some chicken friends that are awfully friendly. Never have I relaxed so quickly on a trip before. The home is clean, and the air is soo fresh that instantly calms the mind and have peace. Its a experience like no other.
Fun and Comfort in the "Jungle House"
Our arrival - and stay - at this Volcano Hideaway "Jungle House," was a welcome and fun change from our stay in busy Kona! The caretaker happened to be there when we arrived, and greeted us with open arms. She had the place ready for us and provided useful information for site-seeing, as well as giving us a quick run-through the place. As animal lovers, we were thrilled to be greeted by the 2 beautiful hens, and later, were surrounded with the nighttime sounds of coqui frogs. This is a unique "adventure" with all the comforts and economically and environmentally-mindful designed home. The bed is so, so comfortable; the type where one wants to linger just a bit longer. It's impossible to not get a thrill from the bus, which has plenty of extra sleeping options! Though it feels remote, it is close and convenient to the town of Volcano, and to Volcano National Park.
Off the beaten path but worth the hunt!
We had a couple of hiccups finding the place (GPS sent us the scenic route), but communication with the property manager was easy and the welcome was very warm once we got it all figured out. The place is both off the grid and out of the ordinary. The bus is a fun bedroom and the house is attractive and comfortable. The location couldn't be more convenient for the National Park. Go after dark and see the lava glow under the stars! Hilo is a short drive and we regret not spending some more time there. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a less touristy, more fun vacation and the price is an excellent value. A certain amount of self-reliance is needed but it's not difficult -- just not a luxury resort.
Peace & Quiet
Loved this off grid charmer. Relaxing and very private. Spotty cell service and internet by phone only, so don't expect much there. Will stay again.
Thank you for the review. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have installed satellite internet, so now you will have an internet connection during your stay. The best place for having a phone connection is on the front deck. It is definitely spotty in the house and around the property.
Amazing long term rental!
I stayed here for several months, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The property is gorgeous and the house is new and well decorated. The extra beds and living space in the bus are perfect if you have friends or family staying with you. There's even chickens and an amazing garden to make you feel at home! Jason was super helpful and was quick to answer any questions I had. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for several months... Thank you!!!
This place is a beautiful sanctuary nestled in the jungle next to volcanoes national park. It offers all the comforts of home with a brand new home, and all the amenities. There are gardens and a pond, and several unique dwellings for private lodging for families and friends. A little piece of paradise. Great rates.
