Wasn’t disappointed with this little gem. Everything was fabulous, from being centrally located to good walks, nice beaches, little towns where the shops are. We know the area well & usually stay on the coast but this was equally as good.
The king bed was super comfy had a great nights sleep. Everything was perfect & we would certainly recommend our friends to go if they were looking for a quiet but centrally located property. The cake was delicious ( need the recipe) thank you.
Thank you both for such a lovely review. Sorry we did not get to meet you on this visit but we are currently on holiday ourselves in SW France - rather hot today at 39 degrees!!
A very clean and compact cottage in a peaceful location. There is so much to see and do in the area and plenty of information in the cottage.to help you decide. Patsy also made excellent suggestions which we followed.
Enjoyed welcoming cake and wherewithal to make our first cup of tea .
Beautiful property with wonderful surroundings.
A great find for a peaceful break. The property is lovely, the host was great, the area is stunning. I’ll definitely go back.
Really glad you had a great time!! Come back soon and bring the family with you next time!
Lovely comfortable very clean.
This is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area. The cottage was beautiful as was the cake that Patsy kindly left us , which was very welcome after our long car journey. Thanks Patsy and Alan. We will be back. John Val and Ozzie.
Immaculate cottage in a perfect location
We had the most wonderful weeks holiday here over Easter. We had never been to this area before but the cottage was in the perfect location and we didn’t have to drive more than 20 minsutes in any direction to find fab things to do - from beautiful beaches to countryside and plenty for kids to do locally too like the chocolate factory and kids adventure parks and there is a walk directly outside the house which is great if you have a dog - the cottage was wonderful. Clean and comfy - everything was to hand - patsy could not have been nicer to us and we would certainly not hesitate to recommend this cottage and do hope to come back again - our children did not want to leave and nor did we - cake is provided on arrival and fat balls are left for the birds who feed outside the window - a perfect base to explore this wonderful part of the country
Thank you for your lovely review. Alan and I both love our little lodge, even doing the cleaning is a pleasure!! We are just really happy to share this wonderful area with people. Hope you can come back soon.

Great stay in a comfortable cottage, sweets and cakes left for the kids which was a great touch. Place was clean and had everything we needed. Local activities were also very good with lots do do in the surrounding area
Glad you had a lovely time. There is so much to see and do here with young children they never have time to get bored!!
Also thank you for the money for the firewood - there was no need to pay as the previous guests had not used any
Hope you can come again for another holiday before too long.

Out and About
Galloway is known as “Scotland in miniature” and has something for everyone. The area is great for hill and coastal walking, fishing, golf and cycling. The ancient town of Kirkcudbright, a Royal Burgh since 1455, is historically very interesting and has a ruined castle, working harbour, museum and attractive High Street. There are also a number of independent shops and cafes. The town is known as “The Artist’s Town” having been home to EA Hornel, Jessie M King, EA Taylor and their friends in the last century. There are regular summer exhibitions and two permanent art galleries in the town. There is also a comprehensive programme of events throughout the spring and summer. (Link to Kirkcudbright summer festivities).
There are numerous gardens and places of interest within easy reach, including Threave and Logan Botanical Gardens.
You will find local information , maps and guides in the lodge to help you plan your stay.
