House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 4 (4 adults)
Vacasa of the Northern California Coast
Clean but dated especially the kitchen
Pros: It was clean and one of the cheaper Sea Ranch options. Furniture was dated but comfortable. Flooring has been updated since the photos and the deck is new-ish but not as new as it was in the photos.
Cons: Near highway 1 which you can see and hear from the house. The kitchen is quite dated and the appliances don't fully work. The range works but the oven doesn't stay on and only works in 2 settings kind of (looks to be from the 70s). Microwave will work if you can get the door button to pop back out (slam it.) BBQ works if you ignite by match (the igniter is out.) The beds have mattress pads but are still hard-ish...we tried them both hoping one would be a little softer (nope).
I would stay again because of the price but I would plan more cook top food vs oven food and I would bring my own ice (the ice trays are all split).
Nice tidy home.. spacious.. great location.. easy!
Quiet, clean, easy time... great views.. handy to everything
Great to just relax.
The house was clean and had everything we needed to have a very relaxing weekend. The stove was a little hokey but the kitchen was very well-equipped. Plenty of firewood for the fireplace, we did have to get some kindling which is no big deal since town is just a short distance. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax
Will not return to this house..
Wow... I am sorry to say I will not stay at this house ever again.
We walked into a stinky place, the nasty smell of campfire smoke permeated the entire house. The bathrooms had an odor of not being cleaned. Several items in the kitchen were dirty. The oven does not work. The beds are Kings, yet they need to be replaced, for I slept on some seam or rod in one of the king beds. I called the management office regarding the odors and was informed that they use natural cleaners and had no way to remove the odors.
This house appears to be one of the older houses on Sea Ranch and could use some work. The pictures are not a true view of what you will rent.
We are sorry to see our guest was disappointed with several aspects of their stay. We believe the smell this guest encountered might have been caused by the all new flooring throughout the home. We are currently working on an oven replacement. Thanks!
This home is in a great location, within 10mins walk to the beach and cliff-side paths through the Sea Ranch enclave, and a short drive to Gualala, Pt. Arena, Fort Ross, etc. So many great areas to hike, swim, surf, and more.
The house is comfortable with fireplace, heaters, 2 bathrooms, a jacuzzi, and new BBQ. However, the house is old, and some of the rooms look and feel tired. It could use some TLC and updated decor and furnishings. The real downside of this house is that the appliances are REALLY, REALLY old. ANCIENT! We stayed during Thanksgiving week, and the oven was atrocious! It made a loud grinding noise when turned on, and only stayed on at 400 degrees Needless to say, we could not cook our Thanksgiving turkey. (Fortunately, the property manager brought us an oven roaster to use, and that sufficed.)
Be aware, if you arrive after dark, the house is difficult to locate, as there are NO streetlights. In our case, none of the exterior or interior lights were on, and the house number is hidden by shrubbery, so we were very unsure if we were at the right location. During the day, it is easy to find.
Final verdict: Home is relatively comfortable. Bedrooms are roomy. Sofas are large and there is enough seating for all. If the appliances were updated, it would make a huge difference.
