Gite Les Capelanies, with its own entrance, is attached to our 18th centuary stone Corps de Ferme, situated down a private drive with parking set in 4 hectares of undulating farmland with beautiful views.
Conveniently situated to explore the surrounding areas with traditional markets, bastide towns, at least 10 of France's most beautiful and ancient villages - such as Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, Belcastle, Conques, to name but a few. Discover historical sites and wooded gorges. Ideal to enjoy tourism, the many outdoor activities - walking, cycling, fishing, kayaking, climbing, horse riding, paragliding - or simply relaxing by the pool enjoying a BBQ with a glass of local wine whilst watching the sunset.
Gite les Capelanies is accessed via stone steps into an open plan room with stone walls and beams comprising of kitchenette, dining area and sitting room. The kitchenette is well equipped with basic store cupboard supplies and has a 4 ring gas hob, tabletop oven, kettle, toaster & dishwasher. The dining area has an old pine table and ample seating for 4 guests. The sitting area has a 3 seater settee and armchair, UK freesat TV , free wifi, DVD player, games, DVDs and books, overlooking the pigeonnier and cobbled courtyard. On the next level via the stairs is the bedroom with creped walls and beamed ceiling, comprising of a double bed, dressing table, hairdryer, wardrobe and sofa (this maybe used as a double sofa bed if required). Off the bedroom is the en suite with shower, hand basin with mirror and vanity unit, WC and heated towel rail. Oil fired central heating with radiators throughout during the winter months. Washing facilities and iron are available on request. All linen and towels are provide, including pool towels.
The fenced salt water pool (May - Oct) is shared with us but guests have priority. The area has decking with sunloungers, table and chairs and sun umbrella. There is a small pool house with sink and fridge, wifi, sound system and night time lighting. Below this is a BBQ area with table and chairs with magnificant views over the surrounding countryside.
We have a golden retriever, 5 cats, free range hens and a bee hive so unfortunately no pets.
Within five minutes drive there are: boulangeries, boucherie, local produce and services, supermarket, bars, fuel, pharmacie.
Ten minutes away is Najac, one of France's most beautiful villages with its historical interests, actvities, restaurants and weekly night markets throughout July and August.
In less than half an hours drive there is the big medieval town of Villefranche de Rouergue which has a large weekly market and amenities.
Further afield is St Antonin de Noble Val, with it's popular Sunday market in the narrow lanes and beautiful gorges. Also there are the cities of Albi, Toulouse and Rodez to explore.
The property has sloping grounds with steps to access the Gite and fairly steep stairs to the bedroom/bathroom, so not suitable for those with limited mobility. No enclosed garden area, so not suitable for unsupervised young children.
