Le-Gro Barn is one substantial building that has river frontage with 1.5 mile of fishing and is set in 3 acres grounds. Have a get together or a get away!!!!

Le-Gro Barn is situated down a quiet private drive so the peace and tranquillity can truly be enjoyed. The panoramic views of the local beauty spots are truly spectacular and can be visited during your stay.

The property has been renovated to a high standard while retaining many original features. There is a wood burner for those cosy evenings in. There is plenty of space for alfresco dining on the 12 seater patio set and BBQ provided. A perfect place to relax with a chilled drink and watch the sun set behind the hills. You can come and do as much or as little as you want at Le-Gro Barn.

Loca Activities: As mentioned before Le-Gro barn is a wonderful place to come and unwind, and chill out in spectacular surroundings. However there is plenty of activities locally for those adventurous guest. There is paint balling, quad trekking, golf, pony trekking, fishing, and ten pin bowling to name but a few.

There are also many wonderful places of interest to visit such as Powys Castle, Chirk Castel, Llangollen Canal, Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhyder water falls that are close by. We are fortunate to have nature reserves near by that make fantastic country walks.

If you fancy a busy bustling day then a trip to Chester or Shrewsbury is well worth it. They have spectacular medieval buildings and many unique shops.

Ludlow Castle is a great day out and the restaurants and food fair are famous nationally.

There are activities for the younger ones with Park Hall farm, Crazy knights, Blist Hill and Wonderland.

Amenities: The village of Llansantffraid is about 1.2 miles away and has a small grocery shop at the top of the village that provides hand made freshly baked bread daily. There is a garage with a well stocked shop. There is also the Spar and post office which again you can buy your groceries from. There is also an Indian restaurant and takeaway as well as a fish and chip shop. In the next villages of Four Crosses and Llanymynech there are Chinese takeaways. Llansantffraid also has a “The Station” which is remnant from the Llanfyllin line that has been converted into a restaurant. There are many more restaurants that we can give you information on or visit our web site

This property is in a quiet secluded location so you truly feel that you have escaped. However if you want a busy time exploring and doing outdoor activities everything is pretty close to hand with the nearest town being 8 miles and the village 1.2 miles away. There is pony trekking and a golf course in the next village, paintballing quad trekking and many other activities a short drive along with historical buildings and plenty of country walks.

What makes this barn unique

Le-Gro barn is a large family holiday home with all mod cons including underfloor heating and a log burner fire . With this property their are down stairs bedrooms and bathrooms, suitable for the less able as everything is on the ground floor with no steps and has wheelchair access. On the first floor up a set of oak stairs provides breath taking views of the surrounding countryside and the river flowing past. There are internal and external oak stairs leading to the luxury bedroom's on the second floor

There is 1.5 miles of fishing at Le-gro Barns where you can enjoy fly or coarse fishing. The are two rivers the Tanat and the Vyrnwy. We have Salmon in the river along with Trout, Greyling, Tench and Barbel. We have the salmon run a short way up the river at the wyre in November time. This is a fantastic spectacle to watch. There is easy access to the river from the field and children can enjoy paddling or trying to catch a mino. The river is navigable and guest are welcome to bring their canoes' with them. We have an abundance or bird life and if you are very lucky you may get a glimpse of the otter.

Wonderful location, beautiful property, immaculately clean, really lovely place to stay.

Met every need - peaceful, idyllic, close to town, yet far enough away to escape. Property was finished to a very high standard. Beds & linen were very comfortable & had a feeling of luxury. Loved every moment we spent there. Our hosts were most welcoming.

60th Birthday Family Celebration

  • 4 of 5

10 adults and 2 children came together for a family celebration. The bedroom accommodation including bathrooms was brilliant and worked out well especially with having 2 small children. Travel cots, high chair and stair gates were provided.

However, for us, this was not reflected in the living area as the lounge was fairly small for 12 people and the kitchen just accommodated the table with extra chairs being stacked up in the lounge .

To compensate the small living area there was a great eating area outside consisting of a large table surrounded by a rattan settee. We were able to sit out for coffee and lunch and enjoy the views. Due to the time of year this was only once as it rained a lot of the time but we can appreciate how wonderful it would be when the weather is drier.

Overall we had a great time but feel the Lodge is a bit small for 12 people. However would appreciate how fantastic it would be in the summer having full use of the outside area.

Very modern and well kept. Beautifully furnished, children loved the space to play outside

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 10 adults and 3 kids, le-gro was perfect as we all had our own space and didnt get in each others way. The garden furniture was lovely to lounge on while the kids played, we had the sun out every morning and ate our breakfast outside too which was amazing. Being set back off the road it was very quiet of a night and you could see every star in the sky! We would have liked more access to the river for the kids but all in all not a huge issue and would definitely stay again.

P.S. Sunday dinner at the Station Grill is recommended

The Powys borders run along side the spectacular Dyke which King Offa ordered to be constructed in the 8th century, probably to divide his Kingdom of Mercia from rival kingdoms in what is now Wales. The Trail explores the tranquil Marches (as the border region is known) and passes through the Brecon Beacons National Park on the spectacular Hatterall Ridge. In addition it links no less than three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the Wye Valley, the Shropshire Hills and the Clwydian Hills.

Local towns:

1. Welshpool & Oswestry – about 15 – 20 minutes by car. Has a good range of supermarkets ( Tesco,Sainsburys, Morrisons, Somerfields, Iceland), all your high street favourites – Boots, WHSmith, plenty of cafes and coffee shops, and some specialist shops.

2. The nearby Medieval town of Shrewsbury and city Chester offering excellent shopping, cinemas and a race course.

Golf: Llanymynech golf club is visible from our property. Tee of in England and sink a putt in Wales.
