About Michael Showalter
My wife and I have lived on Capitol Hill for 15 years. We love it here. It's a small town in the middle of a big city. Since we've been here, the neighborhood has continued to improve. Restauranteurs discovered H Street about 10 years ago and the area is booming. I'm a tour guide and my wife works in government so it's been the perfect place for us to enjoy our fine city without the burden of a lengthy commute from the suburbs.
Michael Showalter purchased this Townhome in 2001

Very clean, great location
Location was great. Mike was very helper and attentive. He texted us as soon as we arrived to make sure everything was ok for us. The house was incredibly clean. You can tell Mike and his family take really good care of the house. The location is so good that i would advice against renting a car. There is a free streetcar three blocks away on H ST and 8 th ST that stops at Whole Foods, Giant grocery store, and the Union Station. Using Uber or Lyft service was very easy and not that expensive to get around DC. We even used Lyft service to go to Mt. Vernon and Old Town Alexandria. Some days, we walked to grocery stores or to the Union Station to take the Metro. This property has all the necessities you will need. Mike is very good about responding quickly via text or email with any questions. I highly recommend this place!
Loved 1025 G Street, NE
Perfect location. Enough room for my big family. Clean as a whistle and close to amenities.
Close to everything in a family friendly area
The owner was very gracious with our many questions. The home was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. We loved the neighborhood. The park around the corner was wonderful. It was easy to get groceries from Whole Foods and surprisingly simple to drive a few minutes to the monuments and museums. Our 2 year old loved the toys and books, our 8 and 10 year olds favored the park, our 13 and 16 year olds loved the style of the row house and all felt at home in this charming place.
Excellent property in DC
Mike is an outstanding host. He was very helpful with all of our questions about the property and surrounding area and responded promptly; typically the same day.
The property is in a very nice location close to Union Station and easy access to the metro. The parking is street parking that could get tricky on busy weekends but we had no issues finding parking in front of the property. Honestly, you would not need to rent a car if you are planning to stay in the DC area and plan to use the metro system.
Around the property there are several nice restaurants and coffee shops on H street and easy access to grocery stores within walking distance or a very quick drive (Giant and Whole Foods). Although we did not use the back porch of the property, there is a small but comfortable sitting area with a grill.
I would absolutely recommend this wonderful and historic property. It makes an excellent home base to explore DC and surrounding area.
Wonderful Summer Family Vacation
We had a pleasant stay from July 14-21. The house was perfect for our 20,19, 13 year old kids. Plenty of room for all of us. We used Uber everyday to get around Washington. We walked to Whole Foods our first day to get our groceries. My husband enjoyed his daily morning walks to Starbucks. The first night we walked to Farm Birds which had a delightful menu of healthy dinner options. We were too tired the rest of the week from museum walking so we used Uber Eats to dine in for dinner. Michael and Nadine were always in touch with us via text to make sure we were OK with our travels and with our stay in their wonderful house.
Cute and Clean
The house was clean, cool, and close to our activities in DC. It was warm while we were in DC, so it was wonderful to come home to a cool house to rest after a full day of walking and site seeing. Michael was very accommodating and quick to answer all our questions about the area. The neighborhood is nice and within walking distance to a Whole Foods, Starbucks, and great restaurants. We did use Uber the whole time we were there. It was just easier for us to navigate instead of the Metro or bus. Overall a great experience. Thanks!!
