About Carrie Leadbeater-Hart
Hello! We are Nick and Carrie, an English family of four who just love France. We have two children, Henry aged 13 (horrible!) and Hattie aged 1 (less horrible!) We have lovingly restored this house and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. x

Lovely property, clean, spacious & very well presented (huge, comfortable beds). Nick & Carrie could not have been more accommodating & Xavier was very helpful with the bbq & pool. Great location amidst wine country, a few good local shops & very short drive to 2 supermarkets. We had a great time & highly recommend you book your next holiday here.
wonderfully memorable and enjoyable holiday!
Our three generations were privileged to stay in this lovely, warm, generous and characterful house, so well described in many of the other enthusiastic reviews. There is plenty of space inside for eating together or seeking respite from the sun in quieter and noisier pursuits. The children loved the Xbox, our PS4 and many games, particularly Linkee, which all of us could play.
The large marble terrace has plenty of shade and seating areas, with a great barbecue. Xavier, your lovely neighbour provided a barrowful of vine cuttings to use, traditional style.
The pool is perfect, warm, saline, lots of shallows for children and enough depth for swimmers. The poolside "lean too" was perfect for childrens' stone painting and watching the geckos chasing moths attracted by the lights at night..
We loved watching the swallows skimming the pool in the morning, joined by the bats at dusk, stunning sunsets, star gazing, pool light shows, humming bird hawk moths feeding on the terrace flowers, all the cats and kittens and hearing the rival out of sync church bells.
This quirky village also has an interesting cast of "Petetas", life sized straw and cloth figures representing traditional village life, found everywhere, including the lady on the bathroom balcony. Our children were intrigued and soon created scenarios ,sweet "Tom's Midnight Garden" style to scarier ones, horror/ Sci. Fi. inspired which we discouraged!
Venturing out provides loads of activities, both nearby and further afield, from walking to the boulangerie, to rock jumping, river swimming, canyoning, kayaking, go-karting, scuba diving, trotinettes (beware!) as noted in the house book.
Carrie responded patiently and promptly to our queries through an enjoyable correspondence (for us, anyway!)
We thought a floor plan might help both parties when allocating bedrooms/bathroom use ?
Thank you Carrie and Nick!
My wife and I wanted to take our extended family of eleven, including small children, to France. We wanted to know what people that live there experience. This property delivered. First, it is a nice home. Lot's of room, great patio (we barbequed with grape vines), and a wonderful pool, which we used heavily. Much of the village, in my opinion, looked like it was from a movie set of an old French village. Carrie was a responsive host (doing any communication while having a baby during our stay). We used many of her suggestions for day trips. We particularly liked the rock climbing we did.
A great family holiday
We had a fabulous holiday in Murviel-lès-Béziers, it suited us well as a family with 4 grown-up children plus 2 partners. The house was very comfortable, roomy and well equipped, I can’t think of anything we needed in the kitchen that wasn’t there, including a great supply of sharp knives! The terrace area was lovely and shady and had a great barbecue. The pool area had plenty of loungers and pool toys. We used the pool loads as the weather was really hot, and we could probably have done with another parasol.
The house is really well positioned for local amenities, with shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance and we would thoroughly recommend the wood-fired pizza van which we used on our first night.
Murviel-lès-Béziers is really well situated for day trips to numerous towns and sites. We particularly enjoyed Pézenas and Carcassonne, and were hugely impressed by the Pont de Gard. We had only really intended it as a stop-off on the way to Avignon (which was fabulous) but it was so much more than that with a great visitor centre. A real feat of Roman engineering!
I would love to return to the area as there is so much still to see and would have no hesitation in staying in the house again if our follow up is with a similarly large group!
Hi Lesley and fam,
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the house and the area - and thanks for the parasol tip.

Attractive house near Bezier
Very nice house with plenty of bedrooms for our 3 families. Excellent warm pool, ideal for the small grandchildren. Carrie was extremely good at answering queries immediately and very helpfully.
Thank you for your your lovely review ☺️ We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Come back and see us anytime!
Great house, great facilities, great location - recommended!
We had the fortune of staying in this property in August 2018.
Our group consisted of 8 adults and 4 children (6,3,2 and 11months) and we all loved the property.
Communication with the owners prior to booking was smooth and efficient.
The house itself is in the centre of a lovely village with a bar, ATM and boulangerie at the end of the street. Also within the village is a butcher, restaurants, pizza wagon, Lidl supermarket and other services.
The house, spread over 3 floors has everything you need for your stay, 7 beds with a mixture of doubles, singles and even a cot. some of the bedrooms are en suite, the others share a bath/shower room. There are toilets on each floor so you don't need to climb stairs for each visit.
We spent most of our time in the outside garden/pool area what is amazing with plenty of seating areas and a super kid friendly pool area with loungers, toys, inflatables etc. The wonderfully heated pool has a shallower end suitable for small people as well as a shallow ledge all the way around for children to explore around the pool. The garden gets full sun from around 09:30 every day and has amazing views over the nearby hills.
The kitchen is well equipped and the dining area has enough seats for everyone. There is even a children's play room with Xbox etc to occupy them or for them to escape the sun!
Everyone in our group loved this property and would, without hesitation return again.
Further a field should you want to explore, Roquebrun (swimming beach on a river), St Chinian (wines, market) Assignan (lovely village) are all worth a visit before returning to the pool.
One of our group even rented a bike from a nearby rental company and can vouch for the quality of the cycling nearby.
All in all, stay here you will not regret it.
Darren, thank you so much for your kind review. I am delighted that you enjoyed the house, it sounds like you had a great time.
You are welcome to stay in the house anytime. All the best, Nick & Carrie
