Wonderful, private and beautiful lot
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin which was large enough for the 10 of us to be comfortable, yet small enough to encourage outdoor activity throughout the day. The pictures are very accurate. The gentle slope of grass and sand to the waterfront was perfect for our kids...no steps was such a help! The lake was clean and had many different areas we could explore whether it be the sandbar area nearby for some beach fun, the bay in front of the dock for tubing and skiing, or the entire lake for our daily pontoon rides. We would recommend renting a pontoon for the time you are at the cabin if you are there during the summer months. Call Musky House Marine (which is conveniently close) ahead of time to ensure they have one for you during your stay. We enjoyed getting away to this peaceful and fun place!!
Relaxing, Lovely Lake Home with Great Location on Long Lake
We rented the home for 4 nights and had 8 guests (4 adults, 4 children). The home held us all comfortably. The home was clean, well-equipped, very comfortable, and private (surrounded by trees). We were met almost immediately by the caretakers who gave us all the details and made us feel very welcome. The lake access was near perfect for us - with close proximity to a sand bar for the kids to go swimming. We had a great time fishing (Northern, Bass, Blue Gills), and enjoyed kayaking and paddleboards (rented from a local place).
When my family goes away it’s all about being on the water. The house was nice, had everything we needed, but we can sit inside at home so really if the weather allows we want to be sitting at the water listening to the loons. We had perfect weather, the small kids enjoyed everything the property offered and so did the big kids.
The lake is clean and deep. There was fishing off the dock, in the bay, and we explored new areas. Plenty of lake for the jet ski’s, and the sand bar across was like a tropical beach with our chairs right in the water - best spot on the lake!
We brought two kayaks, and the rental has a two person one for use. The fire pit is by the water with a sandy spot to set up horseshoes. The location and house interior definitely had the up north feel, and town was a short drive for groceries or gas. From house to lake was an easy slope to walk down - no stairs, and we had privacy. On our hook were a variety of pan fish, northern, and bass which we fried up over the fire pit.
As for the house, clean, modern, plenty of places to sleep, two private bedrooms, but three bathrooms which is rare to find and nice to have! There is a washer and dryer, air conditioning that might not be needed but the upstairs loft area does stay warmer. Big fridge, a dishwasher, and an outdoor gas grill.
The weekend we spent, a local resident hosted a hydrofoil board competition on the lake that we watched from the pontoon we rented. If relaxing, fishing and water sports are on your getaway list, this is the place and we would rent again without hesitation.
Great vacation getaway
Perfect size for a family of 6 with room to spare. excellent clear lake,. everyone enjoyed swimming, tubing, skiing, fishing and using the provided 2 person kayak. The cabin was clean and well kept. The 2-1/2 baths and laundry room was a plus. If you bring a boat or trailer turning around is a little tricky. Overall a beautiful relaxing destination.
Great home, great location kids had a blast
Very enjoyable and relaxing stay.
I thought the property was outstanding, a beautiful setting and a spacious well appointed home with a woodsy vibe!
Amidst the blue and green tapestry of lakes and forests, this 926-acre lake is nearly 8 miles long and has 13 miles of shoreline. Much of the 13 plus miles of shoreline on Long Lake are clean sand beaches and borders the breathtaking Chippewa National Forest. With water clarity over 20 feet, Long Lake is one of the clearest lakes in the state of Minnesota. Although many come for the recreation, fishing is great with a variety of species, including: Northern Pike, Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Crappie and Bluegills.
The beautiful location blesses us with nature, which also may include wildlife known to inhabit the area: deer, bald eagles, ducks, geese, snakes (non-venomous), owls, wolves, and black bears. Although there are no known nests on the property, please be aware you are sharing your vacation with a National Forest and its inhabitants!
