About Darren Malek
I'm originally from the Chicagoland area, growing up in the suburbs and living in the City until graduating from law school. My wife is from the Detroit area originally. I grew-up coming to the Michigan shoreline as a teenager with my friend whose parents owned a place in Lakeside, Michigan. We moved to Michigan to be closer to family and to the shoreline I loved so much as a kid. I started a small law firm several years ago and enjoy my practice as a business and litigation attorney. My wife and I have three kids and, when we're not shuttling them around to various sports and activities, enjoy the outdoors and travelling as much as we can.
Why Darren Malek chose South Haven
We appreciate the natural setting in the woods, being located off of a gravel road and, of course, the panoramic views of Lake Michigan. We particularly appreciate the fact that while this property sits along miles of walking beach, next to 450 acres of State forest and near beautiful dunes, it is only a short bike ride or drive from downtown South Haven. You can truly get away and unplug in a retreat, then shoot into town for a meal and an ice cream.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are plenty of homes and cottages for rent downtown in South Haven. And there are several "near-town" cottages with private beaches and good views. This property is unique. This property offers private lake frontage (so you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine in your chair), unparalleled views, easy access to downtown and is uniquely situated next to hundreds of acres of State forest, beautiful dunes systems and along miles of beach. You can pick up the paved bike path into South Haven to enjoy the town or even extend your trip on the Kal-Haven Trail. You can also pick your spot to enjoy the sunset - from the hot tub, or one of the three levels of deck or even from the porch just off the living space. There isn't a bad view from anywhere. The three levels of decks which travelers can enjoy include the lower-middle deck which is 12' x 20' allowing for a waterfront yet private experience.
