The best of both worlds! If you are looking to escape and get away, you will find a peaceful, spacious home on 2+ acres of private and serene lush landscape with mountain views to indulge in and walk through. If you want the full Asheville experience, you're just 10 minutes from everything you'd want in Asheville, including downtown Asheville, the Biltmore House and 2 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, known for spectacular views and trailheads. Downtown Asheville is filled with culture, ranging from art galleries and world-renowned restaurants to nationally recognized breweries (named Beer City USA 2009 and almost every year since!) and live entertainment from locals. Hiking, rafting and zip-lining are all local favorites and available for the full outdoor experience!
This clean, private 1200 square-foot space, which is the downstairs of the Maxwell House (separate, locked unit/private entrance), includes a master bedroom with a queen bed and comfortable bedding and a closet, and a guest bedroom with a full bed, comfortable bedding and an armoire. Main areas include a fully functioning kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and Keurig coffee maker (coffee provided) if you prefer to stay in and cook and a spacious lounging area with tv and a roku device (internet streaming similar to Apple TV). Your stay also comes with a complementary bottle of wine and a small jar of local honey to enjoy compliments of your host!
The outdoor landscaping is absolutely gorgeous with 2+ acres of well-kept foliage and mountain views. It is very serene and a great place to either just sit on the porch swing or hang your hammock or take a quiet walk through nature and down to the koi pond. There's also a nice patio area with a picnic table to eat your meals outside.
Mr. Maxwell, hence the name "The Maxwell House", built this home with his own hands in 2001 and has also maintained all the foliage on the land since then. Mr. Maxwell was born and raised in Asheville and has spent his entire life here and know's the area better than most. His hospitality and resourcefulness are available on-site or by phone as he lives in the upstairs of The Maxwell House in a completely separate, locked unit. He's also more than welcome to respect your privacy and you'd never know he was even there if you so desire.

Extremely clean, comfortabble and a beautiful view
I would totally recommend a stay here. Owners had everything available that you could possibly need. Very clean and cozy. It also had a beautiful view. If you want a restful, quiet vacation this is your place
Loved our stay! Beautiful property
We loved our stay at the Maxwell house! The property was charming, quiet and was perfect for our mountain getaway for NYE. Steve and Heidi were amazing hosts! I had the chance to meet Steve and he was very nice and accomodating. Highly recommend this property!
Lovely, clean home with easy access and a beautiful property.
The Maxwell House was a perfect getaway for my family of five. The two bedrooms were comfortable and the living room area was spacious. Overall, the house was very clean. Because we have a family of five, my daughters took turns sleeping on the twin air mattress provided by the host. They both remarked that the air mattress was quite comfortable and perhaps even better than the bed. While the unit is on the lower level, it does not give one an impression of being in a basement. There is a lot of light in the main rooms and the bedrooms have well windows. The owner, Steve, was available if we needed anything and it was easy to forget that he was living upstairs. The house is easy to access from the highway and within 15 minutes of the Biltmore Estate. My family would definitely recommend the Maxwell House.
Very peaceful beautiful property
This was a lovely place to stay. Extremely clean and well maintained. The only thing is that there is Roku tv but not a smart tv to receive the streaming therefore you have to wait for everything to download. However I would definitely stay there agin😎loved the property and so did our dog
My first stay at a B&B and it was a great experience!
