This charming 2 bedroom home is situated in a quiet midtown Ventura neighborhood. The property was recently renovated to enhance both sustainability and creature comforts. While the red oak floors were resurfaced and the original cupboards and classic Wedgewood stove were preserved, central heating and cooling was added and the bathroom updated with new fixtures plus granite and tile features. Super soft organic cotton towels are provided in the bath. One bedroom has a queen sleep number bed and the other a queen Sealy bed. The bedrooms both have blackout shades which not only block out light but also keep the bedrooms cool in the summer months

It has been designated as a wildlife habitat due to the added bioswales which keep rainwater on the property and the use of climate-appropriate plantings. Guests are welcome to pick the five fruit trees that were added, once the trees begin to bear fruit. There is a patio with a BBQ and table and chairs as well as cozy courtyard seating for two under the persimmon tree. The home also has beach gear for guests to use during their stay. You'll find a mexican blanket, a set of sand toys for young children and 4 beach towels.
Recycling is encouraged, biodegradable cleaning products are used throughout the home, and an environmentally safe water filtering system installed with the added protection of a Britta to further filter drinking water if desired. The cookware in the fully stocked kitchen is GreenPans.
This home’s midtown location is a gateway to all of Ventura’s numerous attractions. It is a short 10 minute drive to the beach or downtown attractions and 15 minutes to the Ventura Marina and local golf courses. Only 5 minutes away, The Arroyo Verde Park offers lots of grass and hiking trails. Ventura’s only shopping mall is 2 blocks away and there are several good restaurants within walking distance. For those of you without a car or a wish to conserve resources, there is bus stop a ½ block away.
The 101 freeway is easy access from the home to the adventures that await you in the surrounding area. Ojai, Santa Paula and Oxnard’s marina, golf courses and beaches are 20 minutes away while Santa Barbara is a 30 minute drive north along the coast. Consider taking route 1 to Santa Monica or LA for a special event and more beautiful views along the way.
