About Terri Hart
Terri is American and grew up in Sonoita, AZ which is just south of Tucson. Karl is British and we have been married for almost 10 fun-filled years! After living in the U.S. and traveling extensively for work, we've decided to spend more time in the UK and so thought it would be a great opportunity to open our home to other travelers and visitors to the Tucson area! Also a Southern AZ native and dear friend of Terri's for almost 30 years, Cathy is our gracious caretaker of "Casa de Sonrisa" and your concierge, should you need anything or have any challenges or questions during your stay. Cathy habla Español!
Terri Hart purchased this House in 2006
Why Terri Hart chose Palo Verde
Lovely, clean and comfortable Tucson home! Come stay at "Casa de Sonrisa" to work, relax, or just make your home base while you visit all the nearby attractions, restaurants and shops that Tucson has to offer. We look forward to your stay!
What makes this House unique
In the mornings, there is birdsong for your ears - and for your eyes, watch out for unique butterflies passing through from the Tucson Botanical Gardens just 1 block away. If it is your first time in Tucson, please check out our Guidebook for suggestions on close by (and not as close by) shops, restaurants and things to see and do. You may want to check these out even if it isn't your first time to Tucson! We have off the beaten path "little gems" that we love about Tucson and that's what we share with our guests. We figure anyone can find a Starbuck's or an IHOP - but it's another thing entirely to get a solid recommendation from a local for of this world Mexican food or the best local cafe for breakfast! We hope you come and stay at Casa de Sonrisa again very soon - and until then...Enjoy! Also - please be sure and sign our guest book and tell us about you and your stay!
Great place and our dogs loved the yard.
Terri was amazing. Any questions or issues we had, she assisted us promptly. The property is a good size, just the two of us with our dogs didn't feel cramped. We stayed here for two weeks and would gladly stay again. 😊
Loved by Parent and Teens
We love Tucson and loved staying in this rental for three nights! I hope to use it again sometime. So clean, comfortable and cute. We appreciated the fully stocked and well-organized kitchen, the comfortable mattresses, the TV with access to Amazon rentals, the off road parking and Terri's clear and prompt communication.
Great access to Tucson
The house is nicely decorated with views of Catalinas. The neighborhood is modest. The house is well-supplied. I enjoyed neighbors’ visiting chickens in the ample backyard.
Casa de Sonrisa
Both my wife and I are hikers and bikers, and Terri's home is centrally located for both activities. Also, it's close to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods--and the fantastic Loft Theater. This rental was very comfortable and relaxing with excellent off-street parking. Great view of the Catalinas out the front window. We enjoyed sitting in the sunny backyard. Terri was extremely helpful and gracious on all accounts. We particularly enjoyed the neighbor's companionable chickens.
Nice place. Great location.
Bathroom sink and bathtub drained slow. Other than that the place was awesome. Very clean.
A Fine Stay
Thanks to Terri for a wonderful easy accessible quiet comfortable and well equipped place to stay during our short stay in Tucson. We especially appreciated the excellent wifi. As we did do some of our own meals, we liked the fact that we could easily find any utensil we might need. If we ever get back to Tucson, we'll check to see if its available.
The Palo Verde Neighborhood is one of the smallest and oldest residential neighborhoods in the Tucson area. It's great central location boasts a wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment all very close by!
There is plenty of parking available on the house property, including carport and additional space for up to 4 total cars as well as ample and always available street parking.
Residents and visitors typically navigate the area via car; its major thoroughfares, arranged in a grid like those throughout most of Tucson, easily transport drivers to locations in the neighborhood and beyond. Tucson’s major freeway, Interstate 10 sits a 20-minute drive from Palo Verde, which you can use to access Phoenix, El Paso, or points in between. You will not need to pay for parking anywhere here, and almost all businesses have expansive parking lots, which customers use for free.
If you favor public transit, there are Sun Tran Tucson public bus service stops just one block away in three directions from the house at Pima/Dodge, Grant/Dodge, and Alvernon/Seneca. Search for Tucson Sun Tran online and use their trip planning feature.
You probably won’t often see taxis cruising the streets here or anywhere else in Tucson, but you can ring up multiple cab companies for service around the clock. Alternatively, whip out your smartphone and summon an Uber, which serves the Tucson area.
Many people cycle to get around Tucson, and the area welcomes cyclists with signs advising drivers to share the road. 5th Avenue (approx 3 blocks) has a great bike route that connects to many other routes in the area, as well as leading directly to the U of A campus.
If you’d like to stroll, stick to Palo Verde’s residential streets for the most pleasant experience. Just a few blocks south you can take a scenic walk on a purpose built path around Randolph and Reid Parks which contains a Municipal Golf Course and driving range, the Reid Park Zoo, and Hi Corbett Field, the spring training field of the Colorado Rockies.
