About Michele Aucello
Kevin hails from New York and Florida but has lived all over. He moved from Tokyo to Hawaii in 1995. Michele grew up in Michigan and has been here since 1991. Both of their kids were born in Hawaii. The family spends their summers in Michigan which is why their home is for rent.
Michele Aucello purchased this House in 2004
Why Michele Aucello chose Kaimuki
Our first home was a little plantation style home in the Kapahulu area. We loved the charm of our old home but needed a bigger place to raise a family. We found this diamond in the rough and have restored it over the years. There is enough land for the kids to run and play. We are just a few minutes walk down the hill to Kaimuki, which has great restaurants, bars and places for dessert. We can watch the sun set every night of the year.
What makes this House unique
We have chickens who roam the garden - you can collect and use the eggs each day. We have many fruits and vegetables you are welcome to harvest during your stay. The home has two lanai's with outdoor seating, depending on whether you want sun or shade. Each Friday night you can watch the fireworks in Waikiki. It's a quiet little spot, yet easily accessible. This experience totally spoiled us for anything less.
A perfectly beautiful home in a perfectly beautiful state. This experience totally spoiled us for anything less than the beauty, convenience and functionality of this home with its multi directional panoramic views of city, sky, mountains and sea. The grounds and garden are private and lovely. The two lanais are totally separate experiences. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Only bird calls to be heard dawn to dusk. (Well, a far, far distant hum of traffic if you listen very closely). It was fun to feed the chickens and wonderful to have fresh eggs daily. Michele and Kevin were immediately responsive to questions. We WILL be back.
Charming property in Kaimuki with terrific views of Waikiki & east Honolulu and just a few minutes drive from Kahala and O‘ahu’s south shore beaches. This multi-level property worked well for our family during a business/pleasure trip. Owner responsiveness during the booking & stay process was very quick and they were very easy to work with. The chickens in the garden are so friendly and very easy to feed. The home has plenty of space with enough bedrooms for four people (two adult and two older children); our fifth person (adult) utilized the large couch in the living room so all were accommodated. We did not utilize any of the lower level residence amenities (third full bathroom & playroom accessed via an exterior entrance) and instead shared the 2 baths on the primary & upper levels of the home. It worked out just fine! Quiet neighborhood and close to shopping, great food, and local markets. We enjoyed our stay and thank the family for relocating from their home to accommodate our visit.
Thank you! You were a pleasure to work with. Great communication. Thanks for feeding the chickens!
Walk down the hill to Kaimuki, home to many well regarded bars and restaurants. Ed Kenney's Town, Kaimuki Superette and Mud Hen Water. Kevin Hanney's 12th Ave Grill and newly opened Avenues. Lee Anne Wong's Koko Head Cafe. The Gastropub Brew'd. Dozens of other restaurants just a few minutes walk away. There is a playground / park at the bottom of our hill and another at the top.
