This two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath family home was rebuilt after the Oakland Firestorm of 1991. It is now 23 years old. It is airy, full of natural light and a real sanctuary in the Oakland Hills with views of the Golden Gate bridge, San Francisco and the Bay.
The Upstairs master bedroom has a sitting room and french doors out to a patio with a gas fireplace and comfortable chairs to sit, sip some wine and watch the stars!! There is also the master bath with attached toilet room, shower/bath combination and linen closet. On the same level is a washer/dryer that is so quiet, one can go to sleep or sit in the rocking chair and read from the extensive library of books available.
The next level has a guest bedroom/office/2nd bedroom. Also with TV, smart box blu-ray player and controls to sound system through out the home. There is a trundle bed with one twin bed under the other. They can be put together for a king size bed. There is a printer and windows looking out on the dining room patio with BarBQue.
The main level has a living room, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is completely stocked and one can work at the island and look out the windows onto the whole SF Bay area. The dining room has french doors opening up onto the patio, a dining room table that can be expanded for a dinner party (I have had 14 people for Thanksgiving!). The living room has a usable fireplace that is 100% environmentally friendly. Just off the Living room is a small bathroom with toilet and sink.
The kitchen has a door to the outside with a small patio that gets the morning sun and a cup of coffee can be enjoyed. Bushes make the patio very private but one can hear if a visitor or friend is coming up the stairs to the front door.
The front doors, as well as all doors in the home, were brought in from Santa Fe, NM and are beautifully waxed knotty pine. The walls are decorated with simple but elegant art.
There are stairs leading from the front door down to garage that have been blocked off for the use of the owner.
