A beautiful cabin with a beautiful view!
On our way up, it was raining, so going up the steep mountain was a little scary. Once we got to the cabin and saw the view from the wrap around porch, we knew the drive was worth it! We spoke to Jennifer, the owner, a few times during our stay, and she was super friendly and helpful! We spent a lot of our trip out exploring the shops and yummy restaurants. The cabin was pretty close to most everything we wanted to do. We will certainly come back and stay, especially since this cabin is special to us because it’s where we just got ENGAGED! :)
Beautiful view, but could use some attention
As the pictures show, the view from this cabin is incredible. As others have indicated the road getting to the cabin is not for the faint of heart. I thought that I was ready, but the road was steeper (more steep than I have EVER been on!) and more narrow that I was prepared for. Definitely not the cabin for those with brake or transmission issues! The mattress in the downstairs bedroom is VERY hard, but the mattress in the loft is much softer. While all of the usable surfaces were clean, the cabin could really use a deep cleaning with lots of cobwebs and spiderwebs in the corners and on the chair rails and molding. Some of the rocking chairs are unusable due to damage to their seats. I was surprised that the kitchen didn't have a frying pan! Hard to make bacon and eggs in the 2 soup pots (only pans) in the kitchen. Overall, this cabin is nicer than those I have stayed in in the Gatlinburg area, especially if given just a bit more attention.
We wished you would have reached out to us about the pots and skillets in the cabin. We had our housekeeper look when she went up after our last guest checked out. We have two skillets of different sizes in the cabin. I'm not sure where all you looked but they were there. We always encourage our guests to reach out to us via VRBO, email, or phone to ask questions or let us know if there is an issue.
We have been looking into mattresses for a little while and know that they aren't as comfy as yours at home. We are hoping to replace them soon.
As for all of the cobwebs and spiderwebs, our house keeper makes sure to get as many as she can with an extension pole every time she cleans. From what I understand, spiders have been bad this year and well the cabin is in the woods!
We hope you enjoyed your stay and next time consider reaching out to us during your stay instead of leaving a middle of the road review.
Very pleased with our stay at Lynn's Lookout.
Great property, beautiful mountain views, we even saw a black bear a couple of times during our weeks stay. The cabin is well kept and clean. The road leading to cabin is very steep in one section, but not bad after your first trip up. Overall we loved our stay at Lynn's Lookout and wou stay there again if we had the opportunity.
An awesome, amazing, and incredible view.
It is a perfect place to get away. You are about 20 minutes away from most attractions. My wife and I enjoyed the sunrise over the mountains every morning. I suggest a 4x4 to make it up to the cabin, but that is part of the fun.
The view from the 3 sided wrap around porch is amazing. I am an early riser and sitting on the porch with a cup of hot tea and watching the sun come up over the mountains was the highlight of my day. This cabin was clean and with the washer and dryer (had detergent and softener available) made my life so much easier when I got home. In other reviews people commented about the road, but coming from the mountains of West Virginia to the mountains of Tennessee the road was not that steep. The beautiful hydrangea that is hidden from every one except whoever is staying there is an amazing sight. I wish I post a picture of it. Plan on staying here again and again.
The road up like others have stated was a bit tricky! But after staying for a week you get used to it! The views were perfect! Every night at 9:30 we would sit and watch the fireworks from dollywood! It was peaceful. A few nights out of the week we had neighbors on both side but they were far enough away they wouldn’t bother us! I loved the view from the loft bedroom! I layed awake just stairing out the windows! I highly recommend Lynn’s Lookout! So glad we chose this cabin!!
