The house sits on large grassy fields with mountain views. One of the fire pits on the property is right beside the house, and a creek runs thru the backyard. There are 2 outdoor hammocks to lounge in.
We’ll provide you with a map of the property and contact number in case you have any questions.
As you can imagine, a 25 acre property requires lots of care taking, and we have 2 positive, friendly property caretakers who share duties maintaining the lawns, gardens, etc. During the warmer season, they enjoy living in large platform tents on the land. While they are about 50 yards from the rental, the tents are viewable from a distance. These property caretakers have full time jobs in town, so they are not on the property full time.
Sound travels easily thru the valley, and out of respect for others in the area, a quite atmosphere is expected after 10:00pm.

Nice and clean
We had a great stay on this property. It was very clean and much bigger than we expected.
Nice layout and good outdoor space
Clean and comfortable, property manager very responsive when we had an issue with the oven, which was promptly fixed. Fire ring was nice. Great price!!
Map of hike from property was out of date I think, no trail found but we did many more hikes elsewhere.
House was amazing; management company, not so much.
The house was very clean, spacious, and perfect for our needs. The cove was quiet and peaceful, the wifi was fast, and the kitchen was well equipped. It was a short drive into downtown, close enough to be convenient but far enough out to be restful.
The management company, however, was a different story. They sent out an automated email with the incorrect door code, and the emergency person listed hasn't worked for the company for 5 months (he says he gets a few calls every month, so this isn't a new problem). When we called the company, nobody called us back for 2 hours, leaving us to hang out in Asheville waiting for the proper door code. When they did call, first they tried to tell me I was trying to check in a day early, then they blamed the automated HomeAway app for sending the incorrect information. I was disappointed in their service.
We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the house and property.
Unfortunately you received an automated email from VRBO with outdated information. As soon as we realized that the content of that automated email was outdated, it was updated. Our apologies for the confusion. We also called you back within 5 minutes of receiving your voicemail.
A Happy Thanksgiving
We were looking for a property to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and one that was “2-year-old” proof. This served our purposes very well with a big kitcken to prepare dinner together, outside space for the children to play and an easy short drive into Asheville. Our only criticism is the guest room double bed mattress was worn out and the water pressure was very low in the showers. The shared bathroom needs better light as it has very dim lighting. The drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms should be wiped out between guests. Overall the property was very clean.
We're happy to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving stay. Thank you for the feedback. We'll be sure to make the suggested improvements.
Nice quiet and clean. Tried using the dishwasher and it leaked, so we just hand washed. Also I noticed the oven door gasket needs replacing. Oven could used a cleaning as well. Otherwise we loved our stay! The property is nice for walking with my grandson and my wife loved the big kitchen! I enjoyed the quiet evenings. We would stay here again if revisiting Asheville
We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for letting us know about the appliances. We'll be sure to address that right away.
Great place to wait out a hurricane and enjoy the area
Well kept, clean and roomy house. We loved the property! We are a married couple with two kids, and we stayed for 5 days while waiting out a hurricane threatening our home on the coast. Owner sent us a map of the 25 acre plot with hiking trail up a nearby peak, which all of our family enjoyed (including the 5 yr old). Caretakers worked on the property daily while we were there and it showed. There was a problem with the heat but the owner responded promptly and had the unit serviced quickly. Property is located between Asheville and Black Mountain so we enjoyed visiting both towns. Nearby Italian restaurant called Gondolier is absolutely awesome. We were made aware there are bears in the area but never saw any; we did see a coiled snake up near the hiking trail but he was non-threatening and harmless. Babbling creek behind the house. Cellphone coverage was spotty at best, but theres wifi for coverage plus Roku Netlix. An enjoyable stay.
