Disappointed I did not get to rent
Unfortunately I will not have opportunity to write a review. Although you are listed as a VRBO you are really a Spectrum Resort property which only allows a 7 day Saturday to Saturday rental on 4 bedroom units. I have stayed at Turqoise Place through Spectrum & loved it but came to VRBO because my family grew into a 4 bedroom but we can only stay 4 nights (7/28-8/1) this year. Spectrum benefits of no value is you can book a unit. And your VRBO listing does not state that.
Perfect location! Home away from home!
Centrally located, so very convenient to Sorrento living! Hostess Anita was wonderful! Extremely helpful and friendly, made herself available for any questions. The kitchen was well stocked. The amenities provided in the bathrooms were very much appreciated! Will definitely be back to visit again!! Only challenge was with WiFi, but good excuse to disconnect.
It was a pleasure hosting you Anna. Punctual, respectful, you left the apartment in perfect conditions.
About the Wifi connection in the past I have tried to put it but the thickness of the walls do not allow an optimal reception.
Fortunately, almost all local sorrento have a free connection allowing those who need it to stay connected.
Anna thank you for choosing my apartment
central and convenient
we stayed here for 3 nights and were perfectly happy. its central, with a balcony and in a lovely old building. It was nice and clean (although there is a bit of limescale on the shower door-not mould) and Anita who gave us the keys was very helpful. The lists of contents on some of the cupboards and drawers would certainly be better hidden (for eg in a file?), and a comfy couch/chair in addition to the rather uncomfortable sofa-bed would be nice, but otherwise we had a delightful time and found it well equipped with both AC and a washing machine. There is no TV, but the wifi was strong enough for us to stream the Wimbledon womens final on the ipad
Just didn't have a welcoming vibe.
We stay in apartments frequently when we travel, and this was the first one where we have to say we were just not satisfied.
The apartment is pretty much as described. Don't take anything for granted that isn't explicitly mentioned in the description. Many small comforts were missing...no toaster, no tea kettle (electric or otherwise), the "coffee maker" was a small moka pot.
The provided towels were pretty old and threadbare, and the shower was stained with mold and mildew, and frankly looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in months.
Every cabinet and fixture in the apartment had a hand-written piece of paper with an inventory of every cup, button, and bead, and were zip-tied shut. It truly made us feel like we were intruders rather than guests.
Finally, the promised internet access didn't actually exist. When I contacted the owner about it, he told me that he had trouble with is ADSL line, and we should soak off a common WiFi signal from another part of the building...that signal was so sporadic and weak that it was unusable. I wound up purchasing an Italian cell phone data plan to get connected, but even that was only usable by standing on the balcony. To be fair, the owner, Piero, did offer to reimburse me for the cost of the data plan.
The woman who met us tried vainly to explain a complex trash recycling program we needed to follow, but could not find any of the proper colored bags we were supposed to use for each of the 5 different types of trash we were supposed to separate.
The apartment was in a good location in old palazzo, but that's about all it had going for it. Between the inventory lists tacked up all over the place, and the misrepresentation of a key amenity (internet service), I can not recommend this apartment.
Unlike a lot of apartments that are dedicated exclusively to the location, ours is a appartamente normally lived by the owners.
Our guests can enjoy all the comforts that normally an owner reserves to himself.
For this reason we have separated strictly personal things from those for guests.
Since there are still connection problems to internet, we have proceeded to correct the announcement, although guests can use a free public access point.
lovely apartment right in the centre of Sorrento, easy access to evertyhing. apartment fine and had everything you needed for a city break.
Coastal town whose origins are lost in antiquity, a popular ski resort whose fame has spread well beyond national boundaries, its major economic resource is made by the tourist-hotel, but an important role is also played by farming and seafaring and from the thriving craft of marquetry and building studio. The communal area is still prepared according to the ancient greek-roman plan, with streets that cross at right angles.
The area offers one of the most evocative landscapes of the Sorrento peninsula dominated by the profile of the mountains Lattari, surrounded by deep gorges, the village opens the splendid Gulf of Naples, with high and rugged coastline that break into steep cliffs and plunge-to-peak in the blue waters of the sea.
