The priority is small and cute! Full furnished (with what appears to be IKEA). The property is warm and we had no issues with the location. Parking is 5-10 minute walk away on the road. The home could have been cleaner and although it was fine for 2, 6 people would struggle to even find a fork each! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Close to all the sights
Cecil House is very conveniently situated so you can explore the city on foot. The rooms are very nice, but be aware that the stairs are very steep and difficult to navigate with heavy suitcases or at night. We enjoyed our stay although there was a bit of a mix-up with the address at the beginning. We thought we were in the wrong house after we had retrieved the key from the lock box as there was an opened container of milk in the fridge, the rubbish bin was used and there were empty bottles from a little party in the back garden. As it turned out we were in the correct house after all. Great for a short stay to experience Exeter!
There are a few issues we aren't happy with. Considering there is a cleaning fee, the cleanliness isn't up to scratch. There was a used glass of water left in one of the bedrooms, thick cobwebs in the kitchen, ants in the kitchen and lounge (along with food in the carpet by the fireplace). There is a leak from the bathroom towel rail, rubbish in the garden, a very overgrown garden that we didn't want to use, rubbish in the bin already and dirt around the fridge freezer and the back door. All these things left us unhappy with our stay.
I contacted the owner via text and email but am yet to receive a response (1 week later).
Prima, maar update is nodig
Prima appartement op loopafstand van centrum. keukenapparatuur is dringend toe aan vervanging. Koelkast, magnetron en oven voldoen niet meer.
Cecil house is located in central St Thomas, 2 minutes walk to the local Marks and Spencers food court, Co-Op shopping centre, The Lucombe Inn and Sawyers Pubs, as well as 5 minutes walk to the historic Quay which is great for walks during the day and a food and drinks in the evening. The city centre is a 10 minute walk from the house.
