Refurbished 2 bedroom 1700’s stone cottage
About Jane Buckham
We live in the village and love it so much here we purchased this additional property on retirement to let out to visitors. We love walking and can often be found with our Labrador Inka either up on the moors or in Chatsworth Park.
Jane Buckham purchased this House in 2017
Why Jane Buckham chose Baslow
This property has so many charming features, yet we’ve modernised it sympathetically so it should feel home from home. Although only round the corner from one of the two village pubs it is away from their entrance and car park so you are not disturbed.
What makes this House unique
The location is so picturesque and yet so convenient for ambling along to any Chatsworth event. There’s also a rear yard with table, chairs and BBQ for those lazy summer evenings, with a family living/ eating area internally as well as a sitting room.

Walking In Chatsworth
Fantastic location and very clean. We would like to have had a comfy place to sit downstairs while preparing food and socializing. The technology in the cottage is a little dated and unreliable. The internet is fine , but the free-view TV , DVD player and Technics sound system could do with an upgrade.
If these things were addressed we would not hesitate to return
Lovely, quirky, clean cottage in a great location. Pubs/restaurants just a few steps away
Quiet location, a short walk (1.5miles) to Chatsworth Park/House. Excellent pubs/food. 15mins from Bakewell, Chatsworth Farm, Haddon Hall, The Monsal Trail (Hassop). Will highly recommend to friends when visiting Derbyshire.
Traditional cottage beautifully brought up to date.
Exceptionally clean, comfortable beds and quality bedding
Situated in the centre of Baslow village, easy walk into the grounds of Chatsworth.
Really lovely place in a fantastic location. Look forward to staying again in the future.
Great location, lovely cottage
Lovely, clean, well cared for cosy cottage, equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Can't fault a thing, would happily stay again. Thanks also for the welcome surprise in the fridge - that was a much appreciated treat!
Literally next to Chatsworth house, with access to a path to the grounds that starts just metres from the front door. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
It was good
Very close to chatsworth which we didn’t go to but worth knowing. We had a 16 month year old which required moving some things up high but apart from that all good . I’m
Multiple stately homes within 30 minutes drive.
