I'm a busy mum of 3 living in Edinburgh. I left the corporate world 12 years ago to raise our children. I decided last year that I wanted to purchase a property in one of my favourite areas of Edinburgh which I could then rent out so that others could enjoy this great city and i could still see plenty of the kids. I love design and have had great fun working with my architect and builders to reconfigure and renovate this quirky little cottage. I hope others will enjoy it too!
Lauren purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Lauren chose Edinburgh
I absolutely love this area and it's proximity to restaurants, cafes, shops and bars yet also the green space of Inverleith Park, The Royal Botanic gardens and the Water of Leith river walks. It really has the best of everything.
What makes this Cottage unique
A lovely outdoor space to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or evening meal right in the heart of the city.

Fantastic apartment in great location
We had a fantastic 5 nights at the apartment and were sad to leave. Located on a quiet residential street a stones throw from the lovely Stockbridge shops, bars and restaurants. You can definitely stroll (uphill!) into town or there are good bus links - I’m not a particularly fast walker, but the apartment to Waverley Bridge took 20 minutes - the added bonus is the wonderful architecture you pass en route. Every fitting in the apartment was of excellent quality and the owner had thought of everything including nice personal touches such as an umbrella and a shoe rack. All mod cons provided including a washing machine, dishwasher and a good hairdryer. The owner had suggested some local restaurants and left useful information regarding the area. We only wish we had had more time as Edinburgh offers so much to do. Just means we will have to come back and would definitely choose this apartment again.
Awesome Edinburgh lodging!
This was the perfect, clean and modern home for our few days in Edinburgh. The local shops and eateries (just minutes away) were terrific. Be prepared to walk uphill about a mile and a half to get to the Edinburgh Castle and old town. It was a perfect distance to get a little exercise and see the beautiful city. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous accommodation in a really interesting area of the city
The first thing to say is that the property is as immaculate in real life as in the photos here - it was spotless and had everything we needed (including the Holy Grail of holiday accommodation - a powerful shower AND a powerful hairdryer!)
Lauren had thoughtfully provided tea, coffee, milk, bread, and jam so we could have our first breakfast without having to visit the shops. There were also useful bits and pieces like oil and salt and pepper, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Likewise there were some useful toiletries in the bathroom.
The property is on a quiet lane just a few minutes away from the shops, cafes, and bars of Stockbridge. Also within easy walking distance is the Water of Leith walkway which we took in one direction to the Botanic Garden and in the other direction to the National Gallery of Modern Art.
Further afield, all the major sights are easy to reach - it was about 30 minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley to the property and the tour buses come to the Stockbridge area so that can work too.
We had a lovely time and are very keen to return!
Lovely apartment in a great part of the town. We had a superb weekend. Thumbs up!
Lovely apartment in a great part of Edinburgh
We really liked this apartment, it was very well presented and very clean. It was very easy to deal with Lauren and she had made sure we were well stocked with the essentials for our stay. The apartment had everything you would need and the bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. Stockbridge is a great area to be in with lots of restaurants, bars and shops.
Very nice and clean flat within walking distance to downtown Edinburgh
From the moment we arrived we felt like our hosts were family. We were able to meet Lauren, her husband Chris and two lovely girls, unfortunately not their son. This well appointed flat located in Stockbridge is just minutes from the city center with public trans that can take you there in minutes. It is far enough away to be out of the chaos of the Festival. It had a small town vibe with plenty of shops and great restaurants. It is minutes from the Royal Edinburgh Botanic Gardens which is mostly free. I spent over four hours there. It is also minutes from the Inverleith Public Park. I walked a lot by myself and never felt concerned about safety. We did have a few issues with the cottage at the start that were addressed immediately by Lauren. We definitely recommend this updated flat with old world charm.
