About Cozette ONeil

We have always had a dream to own a beach house on the Gulf. It's hard to believe that we bought our place ten years ago.

We live on a Llama/Alpaca farm in North Alabama.

We are not able to get away as often as we would like so we decided to share our place by making it available on Vacation Rentals by Owner and giving the Property Management to Kaiser. Dolphin View A is the name of our Property..

Cozette ONeil purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Cozette ONeil chose Alabama

Gulf Shores has a wonderful area. The restaurants and shopping areas are great.

What makes this bungalow unique

The beach is very private and most of the time, we have it all to ourselves. Our neighborhood is all duplexes.

The View - The View - The View is Fantastic.

Would LOVE to go back again!

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect location with a beautiful view! This trip was booked for Moms and Kids... we truly enjoyed having access to the pool right off the back deck and we were steps away from the beach. The beachouse was freshly painted, new flooring and loved the granite countertops! Quiet beach and very relaxing...

My sister and her crew rented side B; therefore we had the entire beachouse for our family. We were not located by any hotels, however it's just a 2-3 minute drive to all of the action. We loved our stay and hated to leave!

Wet Paint - Deal With It

  • 2 of 5

First off, I have never had to write up a negative review. We've rented many, many places and I understand rentals can have issues, etc, but this situation forced me to respond here. We chose this place on prior reviews.

Our family arrived on a Tuesday night and noticed some ladders on the 1st floor patio - kind of odd. At 7 am next day, there was a crew of painters scraping, painting, working on the 1st floor patio and balcony of our bedroom - literally standing feet from where we 'were' sleeping. Thursday morning, painters are back to work at 7 am - it was noisy, music. They were technically on the other side but it's a duplex so they were really only a few feet away again. I could see them from where I was sleeping in bed. Thursday and Friday they worked downstairs but were always visible - on Friday they were painting the patio again and were on our kids bedroom balcony in the front on our condo side.

We had no idea this would be going on and it was pretty disappointing to deal with when on vacation. We never really had privacy and had to accommodate the painting crew. We did call the rental company (Kaiser) and they said they 'would look into it'. The response was 'they'll be done on your side today'. I eventually drove to the Kaiser office on Friday and complained (nicely), they said they were sorry and would take care of us. They called back and offered us 10% refund which was, frankly, inadequate. The first day we could not exit out the beach side door. To rent out the place knowing this and then to really do nothing about it was disappointing.

Aside from that, the location is nice but the condo itself is pretty dated. Carpet was very worn with stains (needs to be cleaned), there was quite a bit of dust and stains on the walls, air vents and tops of the cabinets. The cooking gear is very limited and worn - no pot holders, one knife. There is a non-functional garbage compactor in the kitchen so they just threw a garbage can in front of it which was inconvenient. The satellite TV was non-functioning, due to the dish being very rusty I believe. So yeah, it needs a deep cleaning and some updating. The upstairs was a little better and cleaner simply due to less traffic.

I gave it 2 stars simply because I feel 1 star should be reserved from someplace that you would need to abandon. We only had 4 nights so we decided to deal with things instead of spending what limited time we had moving, contesting the rental, etc.

Owner's Response: The painters were hired by the Owners of Side B with our consent. It was our understanding the Painters would start on the other side/ When we were notified that our Residents were disturbed, ,my husband immediately contacted the other Owner and was told the painters would move from our side. Regarding improvements needed inside, we have moved forward with getting estimates for new carpet and paint and have work done before the Summer Season. A copy of this Review has been sent to my Manager to have the items in the kitchen replaced and necessary cleaning done. Our phone number is listed by the in house phone for Residents to contact us personally if they are disappointed in the Management Company..

Fabulous location!

  • 4 of 5

This house is in the perfect location. You are just steps away from the beach. Beautiful views of the beach from both upstairs and down. The pool was great for evenings or when you were just tired of the sand. Beach was not crowded at all since the house is surrounded by other beach house properties. No giant condos anywhere nearby.

The decor is adorable and the furnishings were comfortable and fit our group of 9 adults well. There were some cleanliness issues and various linens were very worn. However, the owners were very responsive to our needs when contacted and sent someone right over to handle them.

I would recommend to the owners that they add a hose with faucet closer to deck to clean off feet. Also, they may want to look at updating some very worn item such as curtains, grill, towels, mattresses, etc.

BEST VACATION EVER!!!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay at Dolphin View A. If was perfect for the grandkids because they could enjoy the beach and the Pool. It was just as described and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was close to shopping and activities. And the beach was just awesome. The house name was very fitting as we saw dolphins almost every morning. In our book, we hailed it as the best vacation ever. We would recommend this beach house to family and friends. We especially enjoyed the beach toys that were available for the young kids to play with. Thanks for a great week of fun, sun , water, sand and waves.

Great property for family or others needing several bedrooms and that need a home that is beach front, with a pool and wants to bring their pets on family vacation. We had a great time at Dolphin View A and would definitely rent it again! Thanks owners for being so easy to work with!

Great beach house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at Dolphin View A. The house is convenient to shopping, sightseeing, and activities, but it's also in a stretch of beach that has only single-family or duplex houses - no high rises very near - so the beach is relatively sparsely populated. Beach and water were super clean, no seaweed or jellyfish (but I've seen Gulf Shores beaches otherwise in other years so YMMV). We saw dolphins from the house or the beach several times. I also saw big schools of bait fish, and bigger fish hitting the bait fish, so a beach fisherman might do some good. The pool was clean and pleasant. The house was clean and everything worked. The owner gets a 100% rating: friendly, reasonable, communicative, helpful (thanks C!). Would definitely stay again.
