Welcome to Eagle Hill House in beautiful Ipswich, architect designed with stunning water views from every room. Watch osprey dive for fish and herons wade as you relax on the upstairs balcony or main level deck. View clam diggers walking the distant flats and kayakers gliding peacefully along. You can fish or swim right from our rocky beach. It’s the perfect place to bring a kayak or SUP board (local rentals available).
The house is located in the Great Neck section of Ipswich, just where the Eagle Hill River meets Plum Island Sound. The upstairs master suite features king-size Tempurpedic bed, sitting room with gas fireplace, and stone-tiled private bath. The master balcony offers views all the way to Maine. Two other bedrooms share a full bath. One contains a king-sized bed, convertible into two XL twins. The other contains two comfortable twin beds. A small first-floor bedroom holds a single bed, with a half-bath nearby. We also have a portable cot which you can put anywhere you like. The large, fully-equipped kitchen and outdoor gas grill both offer stunning water views.
We welcome families, extended families and friends. Children love exploring life on the rocky beach at the foot of our stairway to the water. There’s a well-equipped playground two miles away, near sandy Pavilion beach, with its tide pools and sand flats. Crane beach, the nicest in the northeast, is a 7.5 mile drive on back country roads with orchards, berry or apple picking, cider donuts, farm animals, historic homes, gorgeous vistas and ice cream along the way.
As you can see in the photo with the flowers, there are steps from the parking area down to the house, creating privacy and quiet away from street level. A terraced lawn affords a protected area for children and pets. An outdoor sitting area with chiminea, table and chairs invites you to evenings by the fire.
Stairs from the parking area are shared with in-law apartment (separate entrance) on lower level of property. The steps to the beach are also shared. All other areas are for your exclusive use.
Kayakers: Store your boats right on our beach. No need to drive anywhere. Paddle north up Plum Island Sound to the Merrimack River, east to Ipswich Bay and the Essex River. We’re on NOAA chart 13282, approximately 42.7097, -70.8109.
Guests love our peaceful, beautiful place, and we know you’ll love it too. Book early to get your dates.
