There is so much to do at the property as well as within a short drive. Whether you are looking to relax and unwind or seeking excitement you'll be centrally located to pursue your dream vacation. Downtown Asheville is only 15 minutes and downtown Weaverville 5 minutes. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is less than a mile away. It is an easy beautiful drive less than 30 minutes in either direction to whitewater rafting and/or the Biltmore Estate.
We built this home to sell as a spec house back when the market was hot. As we were building it we fell in love and decided to keep it. To offset our costs we rent it to folks looking to enjoy themselves in the mountains.
We came for the Christmas Jam with our siblings and extended family – totally enjoyed our stay. What a beautiful home! We had fun!
My family stayed at this home as a way to get everyone together over labor day weekend. We spent one day in Asheville and another hiking at Mount Mitchell State Park.
It was pretty nice, but not the most comfortable accommodation we have ever stayed in.
1. the deck is lovely and has a nice view
2. it is a close distance from both the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville.
3. The kitchen has been updated and is nice and open to accommodate lots of people at meal time.
4. It is pet friendly but does not smell like pets have ever been there
1. this is a LOUD house- there are minimal rugs/curtains to absorb the sound. Basically, when one person wakes up in the morning it wakes everyone up because all of the noise echoes. Also, everyone can hear you when you use the upstairs restroom. This would not be an ideal place to have a baby or young child....
2. The futon in the loft is broken, so if you sleep on that you are basically sleeping on a couch.
3. The linens were dated/stained. The owner should really consider replacing the linens in this house. Some of the towels were frayed and a lot of the sheets had strange stains on them. I know they were clean, but it was still kind of gross to lay my head on a white pillow case that had yellowish stains from someone else's sweat or drool....
4. The parking is tight. Carpool if you can.
It worked nicely for us for the weekend, but I do not know if we would stay there again.
The location of home was good, feels like you're in the country but you're actually close to town & to Ashville. House had great layout, with bedroom & full bath on each floor. However, mattress pad, pillows & sheets on upstairs bed were stained. We contacted owner first night and housecleaning was sent next morning to replace pillows, mattress pad & sheets. Unfortunately, it was uncomfortable first night for the couple who was supposed to sleep in that bed. The dish towels in kitchen were 'well-worn' & should have been replaced without having to tell owner. Little better housekeeping & better towels would have been preferred. We initially noticed last REVIEW of property was 2014, and our visit was SEPT 2016. Overall, we enjoyed house and the location.
My adult siblings and I grew up in Asheville but we all now live in other states. Our mother sold the family home this year and we were looking for a place for all of us to be together over the Christmas holidays. We found this rental to be a perfect location for 7 of us. There was even a decorated Christmas tree and an electric fireplace waiting for us! The house has three distinct living areas on different floors, each with a full bathroom. The main floor has the master BR with a spectacular bathroom, bedroom TV, dining area, kitchen, 1/2 bath, and porch. The bottom floor has a BR, a comfortable sofa/bed, big TV, Bath, pool table, porch, and a laundry room. The top floor overlooks the main living area. There is a BR, bath, and an open area with the futon. The kitchen is fully equipped. I kind of wished there had been a TV in the main living area but we all piled on the master bed and watched TV together. There is wireless for computers. Don't miss the tiny steep road on the left from the main road. Parking is tight but very doable. There is a coffee shop and a bakery in Weaverville. Ingles Grocery Store is close by. Easy access to I-26 and a quick trip to Asheville. Great location, Super rental. I would consider it again!
A great time was had by all. Only problem we had was that the lights in the kitchen weren't working. Made it hard to see to cook.
We brought together family from all over the country to attend my son's wedding. We had three family units staying in the house and the set-up was perfect. The house was nicer than even the pictures showed. We had a wonderful time and were very pleased with the accommodations.
A little on the pricey end when assessing value for money but a nice place, very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Temperature control is off as the downstairs is cold when the upstairs is comfortable. We slept downstairs as this had the most comfy bed. Could have been a bit better equipped in the kitchen, but not bad. Parking is awkward if there is more than one car staying. Views and neighbors very nice, proximity to Weaverville brilliant, and only 15 to Asheville.
