About Shawn Murphy
I grew up in Battle Creek Michigan. I love to hunt and fish. Living in southern Michigan I always enjoyed traveling to Leland and the Leelanau Peninsula to experience great fishing in some of the most beautiful Lakes in the US which is one reason why I have this home.
Shawn Murphy purchased this House in 2012
Why Shawn Murphy chose Leland
This property is situated in a cul-de-sac that’s a 1/2 mile south of downtown Leland next to the Whaleback Nature Preserve. Jet Ski and Powerboat/Pontoon Rentals are available on North Lake Leelanau. Kayak or Canoe the Platte, Crystal, or Boardman Rivers. Plan a day on one of the gorgeous inland lakes boating, swimming, or fishing. Big and Little Glen Lakes, North and South Lake Leelanau, Long Lake and Silver Lake. There are miles of beautiful hiking trails right out your back door and spectacular views in the Whaleback nature preserve. Leland features Historic “Fishtown” and a quaint harbor with many charter boats for catching salmon and lake trout. Great shopping and dining are also found on Main Street in Fishtown. Enjoy the local artisan bread shop and art galleries, candy shops, ice cream, smoked fish and more. Daily trips to the Manitou Islands from Leland Harbor and there are festivals throughout the summer and fall! Leland is surrounded by 24 wineries that make up the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail that offers tours. Leland hosts the Leland Wine Fest, now one of the state’s largest and oldest wine festivals.

the house was the perfect spot to get to all the wedding activities. There were 8 of us there and we had ample room. It could us a little updating such as the patio door and the pocket door in the master bedroom. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the air conditioning as 90 plus temps while we were there.
Thanks Shawn for letting us rent your home
Enjoyed our stay very much. Too bad there was no longer any outdoor furniture on the deck. But lovely all the same.
Could of been a little cleaner
They should clean up windows and doors. Some painting is needed. Otherwise nice time.
Good size but not attractive or clean. Hand and bath soap was not provided in the main bathroom.
House not as clean and attractive as others I have rented. Kitchen was cluttered with too many appliances. Only had enough firewood for two bonfires. Main bathroom did not have hand or bath soap. Many of the windows did not have screens.
This house was just what we needed - lots of space
This house was in a great location and had lots of space. Thanks.
Great spot for a getaway!
We went up with a few other couples and had a great time. The house is conveniently located, and the backyard is great for the summer. It was the perfect spot to get together with friends and not be way overcharged like a hotel would.
