Penthouses and Apartments in 4 star complex.Amazing Seaview, 4 minutes to beach
ARC is a small family run business that specialises in holiday lettings on the island of Ciovo which is accessed by bridge. Since 2004 we have managed a variety of 3 & 4 star properties, awarded by Croatian Tourist Board, on behalf of property owners. We carefully select the apartments that we promote as they must meet our high standards and they are only 15 minutes from Split airport.
Our self catering properties sleep up to 8 people. All of our properties have balconies with sea views, wifi, air-conditioning, washing machines, fully equipped kitchens, a selection of games, CD's and DVD's and we also have apartments that offer a pool. Towels and linen are changed on a weekly basis and we have a meet and greet team that will welcome you to your apartment. There are amenities close by for grocery shopping, eating out, bars and of course, secluded bays with calm, clear blue water.
We are proud of our successful business and enjoy helping our guests plan memorable holidays. There are plenty of things to do, for all age groups, and we'd be delighted to recommend a few. It is not essential to rent a car as everything can be accessed by foot however, depending on your needs or desires you may choose one.
Split is in a region known as Dalmatia and it's a great starting point if you're interested in exploring Croatia. There are a staggering 8 UNESCO protected sites within 2 hours of Ciovo. The 2400 year old town of Trogir is on your doorstep with taxi boats leaving the local harbour every 15 minutes. The landscape is mountainous with the Adriatic Sea in the forefront and the people are friendly and very helpful.
We have carefully considered your needs in our apartments and we're always delighted to get feedback and recommendations. The McDonnell family would like to thank you for your interest and we wish you a happy holiday.
We have top and second floor apartments and penthouses on the Island of Ciovo. South Facing. 15 minute drive from Split airport. 3 minutes walk to beach. The apartment has all mod cons, including CD player, Digital TV and DVD. Apartment has a safe for your personal belongings. Large living/dining area with seating for 6 people, kitchen with microwave, full cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Fresh bed linen and towels supplied. The bedrooms feature blackout blinds so your room doesn't get too bright in the early morning. Two full bathrooms are featured at the penthouses and apartments at Mavarcica. The beach bar is 3 minutes away and caters hot food all day. The pool area looks onto the Adriatic. The UNESCO protected town of Trogir is just five minutes away by car. Trogir is a walled medieval town dating back 2,400 years.
Welcome Pack and Entertainment Area: The entertainment area consists of a DVD and CD player. We have Satellite TV at all the accommodations. A welcome pack is provided for guests to use to make you familiar with Ciovo/Trogir. The pack includes details on the area, sites to see and recommendations of many restaurants and bars in Trogir and Ciovo. Important telephone numbers are listed and the pack includes maps of the surrounding area. Also a wide selection of cd's are available to use throughout your stay. An extensive list of artists are included that we think you will enjoy. We also have a variety of games at each penthouse - poker chip and card set, chess board, draughts board and jenja. The CD collection includes a wide range of artists.
Tourist Attractions: Some of the tourist attractions include Krka National Park – 72 Km of the Krka river and lakes with its wonderful waterfalls. Approximately 45 minutes by car from the apartment heading towards Sibenik. And a must see. Trogir – Is a jewel of a walled town with a wide waterfront promenade that encloses a maze of medieval streets. Trogir is a mere 5 mins by car or water taxi. Places of interest include Cathedral of St Lovro and Church of St. John the Baptist. 15th century town hall opposite the cathedral with a gothic yard. Island Hopping – The Islands of Brac and Hvar are easily accessible from the apartment. Regular ferry’s connect from Split to the Islands. Why not have an overnight and enjoy the beaches and town centre.

What makes this Apartment unique
The views from the apartments are spectacular, waking up each morning to them is a delight. The 2400 year old medieval town of Trogir is on your doorstep and must be seen and explored. A little tip.. You can find some secluded beaches to the back of the apartment block - they are breathtaking and quiet and picturesque. Also you must check out Duga bay, just up the road. Leonardos and Srdela are excellent restaurants - tell Luka in Leos and Roberto in Srdela that I sent you.

Return Stay Another Happy Holiday
Not our first time here. Superb property, Superb views. We especially love Trogir and will probably never tire of it. Google Trogir and you'll know what we mean.
Thanks AB - We are sure we will see you again! Get in touch when you want to return. All the very best, Alison.
Modern, airy apartment
The flat was very clean with all the necessary equipment. Stunning view, very quiet. Parking our large van was never a problem. Walking distance to all amenities, including several beaches, which is great as the summer traffic on the island was pretty bad. Great day trip to Split via ferry, also loved the beach at Labadusa.
A big heartfelt thanks to our guest for taking the time to write a lovely review. We are thrilled that our guest had a good time and always welcome returning guests - so don't be a stranger :) Ciovo and the area really makes for a memorable holiday - with 8 UNESCO protected sites nearby how could it not.. Oh and the sunshine helps...... Anyone reading this please feel free to send me a message if you have any query about a Croatian holiday - I'm always happy to help with your plans - Alison
View to a kill!
The apartment is big and got everything you need. The kitchen is spacious and if tou like you can cook a decent meal and eat it while you enjoy the view on your balcon.there are two bathrooms and it's easy when you're with more persons. The property was very clean .the wifi didn't always work but the local team was doing everything about it to make it work ,you can always call this team for every problem you'll have in and ouround your apartment. W'll mostly went to leonardo's to have a nice and payable meal in the evening. However the discription says you'll don't need a car i would recommend that you rent a car! Not only to get to the most places but also to get your groceries.the property is almost on the highest point of the island and it's a pretty much clime to the village. We never went to the beach in okrog gornji but w'll went to slatine wich was easier to go by car,in okrug self there was hardly any possibility to park your car and it was to far to walk with these temperatures. The disadvantage of ciovo is that it's still has got a one way road over trogir wich means that there will go a incredible amount of people w'll leave the island every day to see the beaty of the rest of croatia and that is a huge problem wich couses a traffic jam for at least 1,5 hours to get of the island unless(maybe) you do it in the very early morning. In the future ,when the bridge is ready, it would be much easier to get of the island and then ciovo will get a big plus! Dor the restbitms already a beautiful island.
Thanks to our guests for taking the time to write a lovely review. The wifi in the height of the season can go down and the weather can affect it - the joys of island living but the good news is it never stays off for long.. We always upgrade the wifi when needed too so that we have the best one available.. Most of the bars and restaurants have wifi also so usually there is somewhere that has a connection with a different provider..
A lot of our guests choose not to rent a car (about 50%) as they want to walk and take in the beautiful scenery on Ciovo. It is not essential to rent a car as everything can be accessed by foot however, depending on your needs or desires you may choose one.
Currently there is a second bridge being built onto Ciovo - we've been waiting for this for 14 years! So we are delighted and we know any future guests will be too..
If any you have any questions on Ciovo and Croatia in general we are more than happy to help...
Lovely apartment, stunning views - great location.
Apartment very clean, well equipped and quiet. View from the balcony stunning. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Air conditioning a blessing as very hot during our visit. Kids loved the pool. The owner Alison very responsive and helpful prior to visit - provided lots of useful information.
Nearest beach about 5 minutes walk away with a great beach bar overlooking the small cove - good pizzas. Another good beach 5 minutes walk further round the cove with giant inflatable for the kids. Take sea shoes as all beaches pebbly / rocky.
About 15-20 minutes walk into the main town which has lots of restaurants and bars - most reasonably priced (Leonardos in particular good for eating). Bakery and supermarket about 15 minutes walk from the apartment.
Took the water taxi into Trogir early one evening rather than driving which was lovely (great meal in Top Balloon) . Also took the ferry to Split from Slatine for a day trip. Had a wonderful day at Krka National Park which is about 50 minutes drive away - take swimming stuff with you. Traffic on and off the island can be bad at times. Allow plenty of time for your car journeys.
The island is a great destination for a family holiday. Only comment would be the apartment is on the top floor and it is very hilly in the area so perhaps not ideal if you have any mobility issues.
Thanks to Katie for the wonderful review - we'd love to see our guest back and every year we have returning customers.

Wonderful,ideal place to stay
The apartment was spacious, well equipped, and clean. We enjoyed relaxing family meals on the terrace overlooking the spectacular view. The location was within easy access to the beach, restaurants and local supermarkets. We had a wonderful holiday, combining beach visits with sightseeing.Trgir,a beautiful historic town ,was a short boat trip from the main beach.Likewise the city of Split was easily accessed by boat or road.We would recommend this accomodation for abeautiful family holiday.

Quiet and very relaxing!
It was only 20 minutes drive from the airport. We were delayed at the car hire at the airport, so we were slightly late when we met David waiting patiently at the apartment. We were shown up to the penthouse apartment which was clean and nicely furnished. The bedrooms were freshly made up and there were fresh clean towels in the bathrooms.
David explained the smaller details about how to open the patio doors, the water heater switch, rubbish arrangements, sky tv, air conditioning etc.
The apartment was very well equipped with all the essentials and more. The balcony had 2 sunbeds and a table and 4 chairs. There was also a sun brolly which was needed. The sun was on the balcony for breakfast and still there for supper. It was a room with a view!
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms was just like having en-suites as we were two couples.
The kitchen was well equipped with large fridge freezer for fresh food and we enjoyed making quite few meals at the apartment. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant downstairs wasn't open.
There was only 1 channel on the TV in English, so the cd and dvd collection available was a really nice idea. There was a lot of music to our taste so we were very happy listening to the cds in the evenings whilst playing games.
Mosquitoes were a problem, and as I have allergic reactions to biting and stinging insects and I was glad to have my Jungle Spray although we think that the plug in thingies at the apartment were mosquito zappers so we had them plugged in for extra protection.
There were so many beautiful things to see and lots of lovely places to visit in and around Trogir, we are so glad we hired a car that we could get out and about to see more of the area. The beach below and at Okrug Donji were beautiful and perfect for swimming on our return after our days out.
We especially liked the last day when we went on a 3 island boat trip which including all drinks on the boat from 9:30am!! A Croissant mid morning, a swim, dive jump what ever took your fancy off the boat into an amazing blue lagoon and then a meal at lunch time which included a "folk" singer who we could all join in singing to. It was a memorable day for only 180 kuna each (about £22 per person). We thoroughly enjoyed our whole two weeks stay at the apartment and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family and would love to return some day.
Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your apartment Alison.
