Our characterful and spacious Edwardian ground floor apartment includes an unusual turret located in the living room, from here you can see semi panoramic views of Corpus Christi and University college sports house and grounds. The new kitchen is traditional in style, cute and loaded with good quality appliances, including a Krups bean to cup coffee machine, dishwasher, fan assisted oven, gas hob, built-in microwave, fridge freezer and a washing machine. The large living room is quirky in architecture with contemporary furnishings and includes a Smart TV & Sound Bar. The apartment has a separate dinning room. The newly fitted bathroom includes a roomy walk in shower. Our place is very spacious and particularly good value for groups of 4 and family’s. Due to the number of windows the entire apartment is very bright and airy. Cleanliness and Comfort are our first priority. We like to add some defining touches and include those little things a visitor may forget to bring with them. When travelling, often time is short, we provide the information, basics and comfort so guests may maximise their time spent in Oxford for sightseeing, business and relaxation. Linens are professionally laundered to a hotel standard. Please contact us regarding parking.

Diane & Marc are a Mother and Son team who enjoy hosting guests. We have welcomed visitors to Oxford for many years, initially we hosted students in our own home and then for a number of years we ran a very busy Guesthouse. With a long family tradition in hospitality we hope our experience will provide guests with a professional feel and an enjoyable stay. Cleanliness and Comfort are our first priority. We like to add some defining touches and include those little things a visitor may forget to bring with them. When travelling, often time is short, we provide the information, basics and comfort so guests may maximise their time spent in Oxford for sightseeing, business and relaxation. Both of us have a passion for cooking, I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, City breaks and I have an ongoing love affair with Iceland that has resulted in many return trips for more adventures and fun. Diane is an animal lover and spends a lot of time in Greece. As previously mentioned years ago Diane often let out a room in our home to students. We had a lot of fun meeting people from many different cultures, it is a huge privilege for us both to be able to continue welcoming visitors to Oxford.
Diane purchased this Apartment in 1992
Why Diane chose Oxford
This property is well known by the locals in Oxford, many times in conversations this place has come up and is often described as the building with the witches hat! When Diane had the opportunity to purchase this unique place we were all extremely excited to finally get a glimpse inside and in particular get inside the turret.
What makes this Apartment unique
The unusual architecture of this property is stand out and totally unique in Oxford. Access is easy as this apartment is on the ground floor. Once inside you can enjoy the refurbished interior including a beautifully fitted and generously equipped kitchen. Enjoy the views across Corpus Christi and University College Sports ground & sports house from the seating area inside the turret. This is one of those dwellings that just has a very special feel. Perhaps the biggest benefit for a guest who chooses one of our places for their trip is the professional service that we are able to provide. Having had many years experience in hospitality and property management we have gained the skills necessary to help meet the needs a visitor has when they are travelling. For example this includes remembering to provide small but essential items such as power adaptors and being available at all times to assist. We prefer to greet our guests at check-in, this allows us to explain all the information a guest will need about the property and Oxford, this also gives a visitor the chance to ask questions and allows for the best possible start to a trip. All of our linens are sourced out to a company and professionally laundered to a hotel standard.

This ground floor apartment has been nicely refurbished. Convenient to Christchurch and athletic fields and the river activities. Close to Ring road and bus stops leading to and convenient enough for north and east sections of Oxford and the rail station Discovered neighborhood essentials store and a fantastic restaurant called "Home" within 5 minute walk toward the centre. Large bathroom, kitchen and bay window dining area, washing machine, all very well positioned. Bedroom was swell.
Front room great for TV watching and conversation, but abuts the walkway and Abingdon road, which has traffic until midnight, starting again around 5am.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and positive review. It was a pleasure hosting you for your visit.
Great flat in south Oxford
The property had everything we needed--it was near the buses to Oxford's City Centre which made it convenient yet outside the crowded areas. We enjoyed having the Duke of Monmouth Pub nearby, as well as the little Portuguese takeaway shop. I loved the quirkiness of having every room on a step above the rest, which gave the feeling of the building having grown over time. Staying in a VRBO appeals to us, as it feels closer to what it would be like to live in the area. Walking the nearby streets showed the character of the local residences, and I enjoyed seeing the vicarage, church, and stone primary school nearby. The main street was rather busy during the day, being a commute artery into Oxford, but everything quieted down nicely at night. We would definitely return.
Very nice flat. Great town.
On arrival, the building appeared in need of a little care, but in fact, the entrance was on the side through a little gate and garden into a totally refurbished flat with everything you needed. Great kitchen, bath, dining room, living room- and bedroom with comfortable bed. Very roomy. We were able to walk to the center of Oxford but actually took the bus several times as it goes right in front of the flat. We felt very much at home and Diane was there to greet us and answer any questions.
Thank you for leaving us such a nice review.
Centrally situated. You can experience all that you would expect from a typical British neighbourhood such as corner shops, pubs, a chemist, chip shop and a post office. Further to this there is a local horse riding school, park with a swimming pool, lake and allotments. Perhaps you will feel that you're in Oxford just by looking out onto the university sports ground or by taking a short walk to the Thames/Isis where you can catch a glimpse of Oxfords historic spires.
