We purchased this property recently because we love the area and could not resist the bay view from this location. We prefer a quiet location but sometimes want to get into the mix of things and this location gives us both. With a bus stop at our corner, we can travel anywhere along Coastal Highway at almost any time of day. We can sit on the balcony and savor the view or walk over to the beach and enjoy the sand. Maybe, we can hit the Green Turtle on the way back for some great food and a few drinks.

There are a few things that I feel the need to point out regarding the rental of this unit. First and foremost, be aware that the owner either requires that you purchase insurance or a security deposit, which was not disclosed until I was about to finalize the rental. This is over and above the additional charge for cleaning, the reservation fee, tax and rental of linens if you so choose.
While there, my sister and I incurred no damage whatsoever and I was shocked when an email from the insurance carrier informed me that there was a claim submitted for a damaged sliding screen door. I had no notification from the owners that they found damage and after emailing them, they informed me that they could not be sure the damage was caused by us as it had not been reported by the cleaning company. I adamantly assured them that we didn’t cause or even notice any damage during our stay. After agreeing that they couldn’t be sure when the damage occurred, the owners continued to proceed with the claim. It seems to me that even if the door did break on our watch (which it didn’t), a broken sliding screen door should be the responsibility of the owners considering that those doors are flimsy at best and easily come off the tracks. That being said, I would suggest that this was not only a frivolous claim but one that was filed against the wrong tenant. It’s not surprising that insurance rates are so high.
Finally, you may want to consider the location prior to renting this unit. We were there in early September, after the crowds were gone, and there were multiple late night incidents of people creating a scene in front of and behind the building. Being on the first floor, it was a little disconcerting, to say the least. One such incident involved a couple arguing heavily on and off, from midnight until 5AM, which resulted in police presence twice throughout the night. Multiple fire alarms were pulled by the couple including one on our building and the fire department had to be dispatched to investigate and shut off the alarms. It certainly made for a sleepless night and we concluded that the neighborhood certainly isn’t ideal if you want peace and quiet.
Good luck if you decide to rent this unit. You may want to take photos of the place when you leave to prevent a damage claim that you didn’t cause!
I am very sorry to read this comment. I have never heard complaints like this before you. As far as the security deposit or damage protection, we do require one or the other as we have an obligation to protect our investment. Anything can happen when you are away and we don’t want our customers to have to shell out money for anything unfortunate. The information about the security is clearly listed under the “rooms and details” and is listed in the quote. I was surprised to hear you didn’t know about this and after reviewing the inquiry, I found that the very first time you contacted us, you asked about the security deposit. We will look into other ways to make sure it is clear and not missed.
Owning a condo requires time and maintenance. I would not expect our guests to be responsible for old or worn items and we are very particular about keeping our unit up to date. The screen door was a recent replacement and was forcibly broken. I understand that you cannot accept that the damage was caused during your visit but we did confirm that.
I am also surprised to hear about the commotion during your stay. We have owned this place for over 3 years and found this to be one of the quietest places in Ocean City. We have never had nor heard about loud tenants or police at our building for any type of disturbance. I intend to contact the police dept. to find out if and what the disturbance was and what unit was involved so I can bring this up at our association meeting as any misconduct is not tolerated.
Most of all, I am sorry to hear that this wasn’t a pleasant experience for you and we will try to learn from this. It is disturbing to hear about these issues only through a post stay review and not at the time it was happening. I only want to make sure our guests are happy. Love the convenience of the grocery stores and the beach. Also waking up and sitting outside drinking coffee and enjoying the bay and nature. So peaceful!!!!

The place was spotless upon arrival, the view was amazing and the next day the owner checked in to make sure everything went okay! The view is amazing and I loved waking up to it everyday. Great place and would totally come back.
