Treat yourself to a stay in a new home built in a traditional Mexican style tastefully decorated with traditional folk art from the Americas. The house features an interior garden with a patio and fountain and a covered rooftop terrace with spectacular views of the mountains and breathtaking sunsets.
Located on a quiet, dead-end street in San Rafael, with easy on-street parking, the Sunset House is an easy 15-20 minute walk to Centro and the Jardin. Additionally, radio taxis are easily available to the house and buses to various locations in town are accessible within a five minute walk.
Stepping into the front door you find yourself in a comfortable living room with a cantera stone fireplace that creates a relaxing gathering space. A fully equipped eat-in kitchen makes preparation of meals enjoyable. From the living room/dining area, large glass doors open to the garden (with a traditional Mexican tiled fountain) and patio providing another space for relaxation and dining. The home has two large master suites (one above the other) that each open to the interior garden/patio. Both bedroom suites are spacious and have fireplaces, walk-in closets, and ensuite bathrooms (including walk-in showers).
A wide staircase leads to the second level and the terrace, providing yet another space for dining and gathering. The home has a whole house water purification system so the tap water is completely safe for drinking and food preparation. Other amenities include a washer and dryer, cable TV, high speed WIFI, and free calling to the US.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The house comes with two cats (that we rescued when they were about 4 weeks old, and are now three years old). They (Frank & Ollie) are permanent residents of the house, and honestly, both are very lovable having been raised by us from birth. There is no maintenance requirements for the tenants since our housekeeper will make sure they have plenty of food and water as well as changing the litter regularly (which is kept in the outside area of the house). All we ask of our tenants is to not let them out of the house, and to give them some attention (petting?) from time to time.
