About Mr Winter
We are a family with four young children and one more on the way! We met and fell in love in London but we lost our hearts to Burgundy in 2015. We were recovering from the premature birth of our son and it was here, in heart of the Burgundian terroir that our little warrior grew for the first time. How could we not fall in love with a place with such love and soul as to help an ailing infant to recover? We set out to buy a family home here in which our children could grow over the years and in Clos de Verger, we have found our peace. We hope that you will take away a little piece of the love and soul of our home and we are more than happy to help in any way to make your stay with us filled with love, laughter and memories to treasure.

Why Mr Winter chose Pommard
In a moment of insanity, my wife and I purchased a derelict 200 year old winemaker's house. It was definitely a labour of love restoring it - you can see the progress on Instagram - #closdeverger - which charts the very beginnings all the way through to the present day. Needless to say, things have changed greatly!
What makes this House unique
First, we offer a property manager who lives with her family in the village less than 3 minutes walk away from our house. She is wonderful and truly happy to help with anything our guests need. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area because she actually lives in Pommard and provides exemplary quality of service to you throughout your stay. This is rare as many holiday rentals in Burgundy have property managers who do not live so close by. Secondly, we do not have any hidden charges. What you pay upfront is what it costs. If you are staying for more than a week, we will pay for a mid stay clean and bedding change for you to keep the house looking happy and cheerful. We do collect a security deposit which is fully refunded to you upon inspection of our house following your departure. Thirdly, if you live in the UK then you can contact us about making your payment in GBP Sterling, thereby saving the cost of currency exchange fees.

Well equipped, newly renovated gem in heart of wine country
Andrew and Kedra's recently renovated family holiday home was a great find. It was evident from the outset that the place is enjoyed by the owners themselves given the level of equipment and the extensive level of local insight imparted in their encyclopaedic visitors' manual.
Arrival was easy with the self-access option. We didn't get to meet the property manager but could reach them easily by phone.
The kitchen is the heart of the house, cool and shaded and a nice escape when the sun is strong. A long dining table seats 10 comfortably and the drawers and cupboards of the recently fitted modern units contained plenty of new cutlery, crockery, glasses, pans and cooking implements. There was a full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher and range style stove. We cooked regularly in the house and found pretty much everything you would find in your own home.
The lounge and snug were the former wine store and - despite the hot weather - a tad too cool without the heating on. But there were plenty of rads if we had needed.
The terrace was accessed by a wooden staircase from the gravelled yard, very safe for children given the high wall bordering, but with a gorgeous view beyond to the vineyards which started at the foot of the wall of the property.
The bedrooms and bathrooms retained many of the original features including original tiled and wooden floors in some, so full of character... and a very good size. They were beautifully accessorised; everything brand new; bed linens were immaculate; and the bed we slept in was extraordinarily comfortable.
The location was at the extremity of the town off a narrow residential street and backing directly onto vineyards. Access was through a tight alleyway but taken carefully could comfortably take any size car. The yard would accommodate more cars than you would ever need it to. Neighbours were a tad inconsiderate leaving cars overhanging the alley entrance, but to be fair we didn't approach them to move and could edge past with care.
There's more to the house and Andrew and Kedra's description is very accurate.
The town was full of 'Caves' offering 'Degustation', a few eateries, butcher and baker. Good choice of supermarkets in Beaune just a few minutes drive down the road.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again. Andrew and Kedra have pretty much thought of everything and if we couldn't find something, they were extremely responsive.

One set of bed linens and bath towels are provided for you, as well as end-of-stay cleaning. For guests staying for two or more weeks, cleaning and fresh linens are provided at the end of each week.
The village of Pommard houses its own award winning bakery, chocolate shop, pizzeria, and cordon bleu restaurant. There is also a café, wine bar, a chateau and village wine shop as well as dozens of individual wine domaines waiting to be explored.
