2015 Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just finished our second year renting and plan to return again next year! The house is awesome, clean and offers everything for a home away from home! The owners are great to deal with!

2014 Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first family vacation to Old Orchard Beach and was the best vacation! The owners were awesome to deal with and the house was beyond perfection! Our children were the perfect age for this location, at 11 and 13 they loved the pier and all it had to offer.

The house is located right on the beach and it is still a nice walk into the nightlife for parents! The neighbors were awesome, everyone was so friendly! We are booked and ready to come back in 2015!

Thank you for an incredible vacation!

Wonderful and memorable stay at 85975, Jul 4th week in 2012

  • 5 of 5

I'm a renter of this property with no prior relationship with these folks, and now appreciate these nice people and their wonderful beach house.

++ The house was awesome, and I think it is better than described or appears in the photos. It was spotless, and bright! We made sure to leave it as found.

++ The owner was available by phone and a great help, even visited to address something I had shared was trivial and not worth the effort... wow... rare.

++ If you've got kids like we have, OOB is wonderful fun, and this house handled our two families well. ++ There really isn't anything in this house that hasn't been updated, and everything worked well.

++ I found the owners very likeable and helpful.

++ I had a beach cart to haul all of our gear to and from the beach _ literally 30 paces? The house has a great storage area for all that on the porch, lockable, and that is so convenient.

++ The house has a great kitchen for family meals, outside patio, table, chairs and gas grill.

++ The Normandie grill is right on the beach next door for any snacks from classics to even fruit, veggie and healthy smoothies. Plus a number of cozy mini marts for beer/wine/food.

++ Walk downtown, a few blocks south, to all the action.

++ Pick your day and take the family to the Saco Funpark/Waterpark (check for discounts).... the beach is great fun, sandcastles, ocean life, shell hunting... all that.

++ A lot of our evening is cooking and drinking together... This property's grill and kitchen and combined with the New Hampshire Liquor Store on the way up made that a great memory (peopke tell me ;-) )

We love this VRBO rental and are booking another trip for 2013. I know a good thing. I've been around.

OOB is a phenomenal 'family beach'. My family lights up when they see the 20x30" collage poster we made of our stay, good memories.

The Quebecois, Canadian and New Englander families - this is where we go to play and recharge, reconnect, renew... so go To OOB, and stay here, if you can get it for your vaca.

++++ Highly recommended.

Fabulous beach home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this beach home. The pictures don't do it justice. It has a nice view of the beach from the kitchen, the living room, and one of the bedrooms upstairs. It is very modern and beautifully decorated with photos, paintings, and sculptures that are nature and sea-inspired. The TV is huge with surround sound, the beds were all comfortable, and all of the appliances looked pretty new (and all worked well). When we arrived, the owner gave us a quick tour of the property and showed us where our parking spaces were. She answered all of our questions and answered her phone whenever we called. Just about anything we could need was already there for our use: a pack 'n' play crib, beach chairs, some cleaning supplies, some paper products to get you started if you forgot to bring some and need to run out to the store, cooking supplies, etc. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off before coming in so as not to bring in so much sand. There is a broom and dustpan as well as a vacuum for your use to clean up any messes you do bring in (as is stated in the contract). We had our three young children with us and had no problem keeping things pretty clean.

As for the area, the house is steps from the beach and a short walk to the pier. If you want typical fried beach food, the restaurants in the area are fine. If you want a nice dinner, I recommend taking a drive to Portland. We didn't have a good experience with restaurants in the towns surrounding Old Orchard but Portland was great. Lots of restaurants and the one we ate at (wish I could remember the name) was very good, kid friendly, and the service was great. The beach itself was clean, and the only day it was really crowded during our stay was on the 4th of July. But normally there was plenty of space to choose from.

Overall, it was a great stay and if we ever do a Maine beach vacation again we would definitely stay here! And we would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Stayed her last August (2010) with family and friends

Place was very nice. Major problem was broken lock on porch door. Landlord did not replace it so we replaced it ourselves and were later reprimanded for this. Also, prepare to have a cleaning crew come in when you leave. We cleaned..........even scrubbed the toilets!!! and were not given entire sercurity back because there was sand in the house! Really!!! .its on the beach!! If you cant clean up sand I suggest you dont rent to families with children. Its too bad, because all in all place was nice...owners, not so much.
