“Welcome, my name is Giacomo, and I’m very pleased to meet you”. My wife Mary and I live in Rome, where I was raised, went to school and eventually studied medicine while cultivating my many other passions: motorbike and bicycle trips, skiing and sailing, books and films, tinkering and gardening. I love travelling and discovering authentic places, meeting the people who live in them and sampling the local cuisine and culture. My greatest pleasure, though, is to invite friends into my home to cook for and entertain them. That’s why I finally decided to make hospitality my chosen profession, and I have my own special approach: I choose only the homes in which I would truly have wanted to live. Charming homes, tastefully furnished by their owners in captivating settings, where I personally welcome visitors from all over the world to make them feel at home. These homes come to life with every new set of guests; animated and enriched by this diversity of voices and experiences they only grow more beautiful. Why not come and see? Not what it appears to be
the pictures completely misrepresented the apartment. it looked luxurious but in fact was basic. The beds were hard with springs that stuck into the body. The couches were actually other uncomfortable mattresses with large pillows for backrests. Shower backed up and we were showering in a pool of water. The oven was broken. The internet was sporadic and barely worked and the postage sized tv was impossible to turn on and when it did we were mostly stuck on the cartoon channel. We booked for 9 days and wanted to leave the next day. No way to negotiate even a partial refund.
We left two days early and took the loss. We felt really abused in this situation, they took our money and we had no recourse at all.
By the way that beautiful garden is the pictures is all burnt grass and dirt. The small nameless street to get to the apartment is treacherous and steep and curvy, if another car comes the other way someone has to back up in these conditions. The views are there though, from the balcony
I'm disappointed about this review because I care about my guests and this review it's unfair and not true. This review it's a revenge for not having given a injustified refund. I have felt forced to give an immotivated refund, I deny even konwing those uncorrect guests will have written a bad review. The house is well-finished and comfortable. As those guest knew, the internet works, it only has had a temporary interruption for a phone-company problem that I couldn't fix. The mattresses are just new and of high quality, the tv works. The street to get to the house it's a short private street, it's rare to meet another car, but even in this case you don't have to back up because there are some widenings along this street. We love this job, love to meet people and make everything we can to make their stay memorable, even knowing that someone has bad behaviour, luckly 99% of people are nice!
Wonderful experience all round
Glad to hear that you had a nice stay!

Sicuramente consigliatissima!
The Argentario is famous for its beautiful sea of rock, the small and large beaches and the numerous coves.
Motor boats can be rented in the ports of Porto S. Stefano, Porto Ercole and Cala Galera and you can visit the nearby islands with a ferry service leaving from Porto Santo Stefano.
In Porto Santo Stefano there are also excellent diving schools.
The tourist office is at the entrance of the village, as soon as you arrive on the left, in front of a large parking lot.
The beautiful Cala Grande, a spectacular bay, can be reached by renting a boat in the village or by taking the Via Panoramica, just ahead of our neighboring Cala Cacciarella, a small road that is a bit impervious but feasible. This road is in fact the bed of a river in dry and leads in the beautiful Cala Grande, with its truly enchanting sea. The bay is pebble and there are no establishments. Shortly after Cala Grande, along the panoramic, therefore always very close to home, there is Cala Moresca, where there is an excellent restaurant, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view.
The two strips of land that connect Monte Argentario, with their long beaches, are the Tombolo della Giannella and the Feniglia. In these sandy beaches you will find various bathing establishments, expensive and less expensive, but also free beach. These long beaches are very pleasant to make wonderful walks by the sea.
La Giannella is in the north and enjoys beautiful sunsets, the Feniglia is south, so it is in the shade in the evening, but has a beautiful crystal clear sea and a spectacular pine forest that can be rented on the site ...
The house is located 1.5 km from the town center.
In via Roma there are many shops where you can find everything you need:
Bar Mataloni (fantastic croissants and croissants), the pharmacy, the oven with an exquisite pizza to take to the sea and excellent bread.
The best cantuccini biscuits can be found in the oven of Alocci who, despite being very old, is always at work. In addition to the cantuccini there are many excellent things: pizza, cream donuts and the famous and fabulous Maremma ricotta cakes with chocolate chips!
Porto Santo Stefano is a cheerful seaside village with an ancient shipyard, you can see beautiful sailing ships in restoration of all sizes and origins.
You can have fun visiting the markets, Tuesday morning you will find a local food market, but also various stalls.
Along the first bay of the Port there are several shoals of fresh fish.
The fourth weekend of every month they make a flea market on the Lungomare dei Navigatori, where a fishmonger prepares excellent fish cooked there: fried fish with calamari and shrimp, stewed octopus, fries, cod, fried shrimp ...
A good restaurant is Il Moletto, good value for money, you can eat fish and shellfish very well cooked; has a beautiful view of the sea, the village and its famous Fortress (an ancient castle of the '500, now home to exhibitions organized by the City or private parties).
The Argentario in the summer has an excellent bus service that connects the beaches and villages to each other.
About thirty minutes by car, you can make wonderful trips in the Maremma, full of ancient villages and towns, including Capalbio, Manciano, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana, the beautiful Monti dell'Uccellina National Park and Monte Argentario same.
Beautiful panoramic roads of the Argentario, like the one that, climbing through the woods, arrives at the beautiful Franciscan Monastery, with an ancient church, where Mass is celebrated on Sundays. Both along the road and from the monastery you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Argentario, you can admire the lagoons of Giannella and Feniglia, a truly fascinating panorama.
Not far from the monastery a restaurant with good prices: "La Sorgente"
Thanks to a new initiative very nice you can travel the lagoon on a boat between the Giannella and Orbetello, a village of carattesristico, full of nice shops, excellent restaurants, pizzerias, cinemas.
The famous and spectacular regata of historical sails really deserves to be seen.
