Morning Dew features a master with Queen and full bath, a second bedroom with a queen, and a third bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. The second and third bedrooms share a full bathroom. The home features plenty of parking and a PRIVATE POOL! NOTE: A new pool heater has been installed and is available to guests with advance notice and at an additional charge -- please inquire with owner for details. An outdoor shower and a downstairs shower are available for guests to use before an evening swim after a long day at the beach. The common area includes a large dining table, breakfast bar, and full kitchen. Morning Dew features a sun deck, tv, board games, and internet access. Directly across from the house is a sandy path to the beach (one block) and 1/2 block to the east or west (at 10th or 11th Streets), guests can access the beach via well-maintained public boardwalks just a block to the south. The house is on Gulf Beach Drive, and the famous St. George Island bike path meanders directly past the house. There is a peekaboo view of the Gulf of Mexico from the sun deck PLEASE NOTE: THE BUNK BEDS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN. NO ADULTS ARE PERMITTED TO SLEEP ON THE TOP BUNKS. OWNER STRONGLY RECOMMENDS AGAINST bookings by groups with more than 4 adults.

Everything was exactly as advertised and the owner was extremely helpful in every aspect. It was our first time to the island but definitely not our last.
Perfect spot for our family trip to SGI
We just returned from a great week at SGI, and this property was the perfect home base for our trip. Jeff, the owner, was super nice and easy to work with, and he was very responsive any time we had a question about the house or the area. The house is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. You can tell it is well-maintained. And the level of privacy compared to other nearby homes is unbelievable. Other than those on the bike path across the street, we rarely saw people while we were at the house.
We visited a few local restaurants (on SGI, in Eastpoint, and Apalachicola), but we also cooked at the house a lot. We found everything we needed for cooking and grilling. Eating out on the front deck was really nice later in the evening.
As for the layout, the master bedroom is on one side of the living room, and the other two bedrooms and bath are on the other side. This was the perfect setup for me, my husband, and our three kids (ages 5, 4, and 2). The kids loved the bunk beds, the pool, and the proximity to the bike trail. My husband loved all the covered parking, lots of room for our bikes, and the easy walk to the beach. With little ones to clean up after, I loved that the dining and kitchen areas were easy to clean -- no high maintenance stone surfaces, fabric dining chairs, etc. All of us were very happy with the house and pool and would not hesitate to visit again.
There are lots of good options for fishing/boat cruises on the island. We used Bayview Charters of SGI, and their dock is only 0.5 mile around the corner from this house. Captain Wes is great, and the convenience to the house made it super easy.
A couple of things to note -- the laundry is on the ground level and does require you to go outside and down the steps for access. This was no problem at all; I just had to make sure I had shoes on when I went down there at night. You know Florida -- there's always some kind of creature out there you might step on! Also, the lock on the pool gate is a little tricky. I think it is just a matter of it being out in the elements -- sand, saltwater, etc made it a little difficult to open. Just know this going in, but it does work.
I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone going to SGI. The property is great, and the rental experience is easy and carefree.
The location of this house was amazing if you want some privacy. It was one of the only houses on the island that had a very private pool area. Oh and there is a wonderful new out door shower that was just installed, that made for a great bonus.
It's just a short walk to the beach, 2 minutes but plenty of parking if you don't want to walk. There is a great wheel barrow you can use in the laundry room so you don't have to carry everything.
We had everything we needed at the house and Jeff was an amazing host. Sub tropical depression Alberto came thru while we were there and he handled it amazingly!! We heard some terrible stories about how other vacationers, on the island, were not taken care of at all by their home owners but Jeff was incredible (20 stars). We only lost one day on the beach to rain, it was fantastic!!
I would recommend this house any time. We have stayed in quite a few rental properties and this was one of our favorites! The bed slept better than any others we have slept in. Some of the fixtures are a little worn but how does anything stay new at the beach??
You can get beautiful sun rises on the beach any day and if you want incredible sunset views, just go a few streets back to the bay. Wear some bug spray!!
We also recommend going to the state park at the east end of the island every day. It cost two people $6 for an all day pass, totally worth it! When we were there in late May, the beaches were almost always deserted. There are about 7 or so different parking areas, just go to one without a car and you will have the beach to your self almost all day. We got to hang out with 4 Blue Herons all day while my husband fished (great fishing too). It was a magical day:)

The property was just right for our family vacation. Such a quick walk to the beach, but there are a few parking spots if you don’t want to walk the 1.5 blocks. Having the pool was perfect for the kids to keep playing when we (the adults) were too tired to go back to the beach. Jeff was a breeze to work with. Would definitely recommend this place.
Our family of 4 had a great time! The house had everything we really needed and the pool was fantastic. The place overall is clean but a little dated. That said, the owner Jeff gets 10 stars for being the most friendly, thoughtful, helpful, responsive property owner I’ve ever experienced!
Secluded family retreat
We stayed at Morning Dew for 11 days. We absolutely loved it. The property feels so private. Even though it is on the main road, there are no houses directly across or right next to the pool area, and lots of trees and bushes surround the property. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet. The beach is just a short, easy walk through a treed area, that my daughter's referred to as "the jungle". It was fun walking to the beach. We have usually stayed closer to the beach, and we thought we might miss that, but honestly we did not. The house was very comfortable, and family friendly. I would definitely recommend it for families with young children. The owners have thought of everything you might need, and I found that I really could have packed much lighter! The owner Jeff has been just great to work with. Honest, and easy going. My girls have already been asking about next year. We love St. George island, having come for the last few years. We were nervous trying out a new place to stay on the island, but this one exceeded our expectations, and gave us a really wonderful vacation.
