Guestbook comments from the owner

The Chalet was perfect-one of the highlights of our trip! Your hospitality and generosity will be hard to match in our future trips! L. Edmonds"Non-smoking dog-lovers will find your chalets a wonderful alternative to Asheville hotels. We've stayed at the Grove Park Inn several times and greatly prefer your Matterhorn Chalet!" C. Hipp We Loved the décor and found the chalet extremely welcoming….we will highly recommend this to all that ask – and even those that don’t. Judy’s hospitality was above and beyond. Our visit to the Asheville Swiss Chalet has definitely raised the bar on what we will hopefully find in future accommodations. L&JThe attention to detail is impeccable! Out of all our many travels, this is definitely the best place we have every stayed! Overall quality, value & comfort! L&JDelightfully furnished and extremely well equipped, beyond my expectations. I felt as though I were in heaven! Mountaintop vistas from our dining table and porch and a walk into town. Bernice/Houston“We loved your chalet and the bakery, too! You’ve created a very comfortable environment here. We appreciated your attention to the small things, ie – spices & coffee, so very nice! Thank you!” S. Montgomery“We were so impressed, all the extra touches were so nice, thank you”We had a wonderful time and would consider this again in the future. Thanks for all your hospitality. M & S

We actually stayed in the Luzern - my husband, me and our two teenagers. We all agreed it was a wonderful experience and we would certainly stay again. The chalet was beautifully kept, very comfortable, with all the amenities and some very nice "extras" like free cookies, a variety of teas and spices/condiments for cooking. The guest information book was full of good ideas for exploring the area. We'll be back!

How nice to come back to the Swiss Chalets NINETEEN years after our honeymoon there! This was our first stay in the Alpine chalet; perfect for a couple or small family and the view from the porch is a great way to enjoy a glass of bubbly. We were very impressed with the renovations/upgrades and all the little extras. The fresh coffee beans made a wonderful brew; the spices and well appointed kitchen came in handy for marinating the steaks we brought along (the grill fired right up w/no problem); the fireplace kept the whole place warm and the bed slept just fine. My wife was most appreciative of the clean, well stocked bathroom. No wimpy little motel towels here! We really enjoyed the cookies and the trip to the bakery shop in Weaverville. The giant wedding cookies are to die for. Can't wait to come back and try out one of the larger chalets with the whole crew and the family dog. I would recommend the Swiss Chalets to anyone. We'll be back!Judy, thanks again for another wonderful experience in Asheville.

The Alpine Chalet, on the hills above Asheville, is wonderful. In terms of accomodations it is all, and more, then pictured on the web site. We were welcomed with fresh baked cookies and a gift certicate to Judy's bakery and deli.

It is so nice that she welcomes dogs, and even provides a doggie dish and a blanket to put on the furniture in case your best friend wants to snuggle.

By the way, Asheville and western NC have a lot to offer for a vacation.

Our 11 year old bloodhound has never been boarded and is no stranger to the many types of pet accommodations. Our experience has been at both ends of the spectrum. Either we've been afraid to take off our shoes, or we've been afraid of a broken antique with one quick wag of the tail. Asheville Swiss Chalets are neither of these. They are cozy and inviting, with all the comforts of home. Our chalet was charmingly decorated with modern furnishings. Every detail had been expertly planned, with many you don't find in upscale hotels. There's parking steps away from the front door, wireless internet access, a gas fireplace, a pet throw for the couch in case your pooch is accustomed to such luxuries, outdoor seating and grill, and well, there really isn't anything that Judy has missed. Her personalized note welcomes you with gourmet treats and a gift certificate from her bakery just a few miles up the road. While you're there, pick up a serving of quiche (which is big enough for two) and heat it up in your fully fuRnished kitchen the next morning.

We absolutely loved the accommodations and that's why we came back. To be in a mountain setting but a stone's throw from the city is unique and convenient! Clouseau can't wait to breath that mountain air once more. Thank you for being so very attentive to the needs of people with dogs. You and your staff are a class act.

Booked the Alpine for a mother daughter trip and it was so nice and relaxing. Great location. Used the coupon for the Well-Bred Bakery and Cafe in Weaverville-great place! I can't wait to plan a trip with my husband, son, and of course dog.
