About Kelly and Rich
An educator with a passion for travel and adventure. Originally, from the east coast but moved to the Pacific Northwest (PNW) for a career change. In my time here, I have thoroughly enjoyed all PNW has to offer, especially the Mt. Rainier area.
Kelly and Rich purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Kelly and Rich chose Ashford
This property is special because it is so close to the Mt. Rainier National Park main entrance. In addition, it is a private lot that allows couples and families space to enjoy the property and surrounding area attractions.
What makes this Cabin unique
This remodeled A-frame has updated features that provide home comforts with the added benefit of unplugging and unwinding from every day life. The property has the ability to make you feel like it in itself is a vacation without venturing to nearby sites. However, I strongly encourage you explore the surrounding area. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or someone who just wants to step foot in Mt. Rainier National Park, this area has it all and more for every season of the year.

We fell in love with this little cabin immediately. Check-in was easy, and once inside we found everything we needed and more. It's small but does the job! We found that noise traveled a little too easily throughout, but that was to be expected for the smaller space. I would come back again for sure. Thanks for sharing your little spot with us!
Great, quaint place
Very clean, accessible, great location, all the amenities. Perfect place to stay if you're looking to spend time in Mount Rainier. Stairs to the loft are more ladder-like than stairs, but were not a problem for us. However, if the stairs are too challenging, there is a pull-out couch downstairs. We loved this place and definitely recommend it!
Location was perfect, right outside of Mt. Rainier and tucked away from everything. Clean, accommodating and just overall perfect!
cute, great location, comfortable. only complaint is that the fireplace did not work
Beautiful and cozy cabin
Small and cozy cabin perfect for a geoup of 3-4 people or a small family, What I loved about it the most is the location of the cabin very close to mt rainier where we were hiking.
The cabin was really nice but a little dark.
The cabin was really attractive with a large modern fully stocked kitchen including spices! Our only complaints were that the stairs leading up to the loft bedroom were
The cabin was lovely with a large, modern kitchen stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Our only complaints were that the stairs leading to the loft bedroom were steep and dark and didn't feel safe (we are in our early 70"s) so we did not use that area. The cabin overall was extremely dark which made it difficult to read or even get around safely. More lighting would make a big difference. It was a great location for getting to Mt Rainier.
We are glad you enjoyed your visit! The stairs are steep and are best used with a ladder technique - using one foot at a time up and down. There are lights on the stairs under the railings which shine down to light up the steps.
Downstairs there is a large overhead kitchen light, a table lamp, and lights on a side wall next to the black couch. We appreciate your feedback and will add an additional side lamp downstairs.
