About David Wood

This home has been a special place for us. We got married, renovated this home together and started our family here. One of us grew up in Michigan, moved to Seattle after college, fell in love with the place and stayed. The other is a fourth generation Washingtonian who has lived all over the world but returned to the great Pacific Northwest.

David Wood purchased this house in 2008

Why David Wood chose Phinney Ridge

We bought the house with the intention of remodeling and renting the basement. We started with a dirt floor and bare studs and have turned it into a very nice daylight basement with it's own full kitchen, living room and bathroom. The electrical, plumbing and heating are all new.

House great/yard ugly

  • 3 of 5

I want to start by saying the house was wonderful. My problem was the condition of the outside. We had only half a backyard because of stacks of wood taking over most of it. The landscaping was in bad need of pruning and cutting back. Dead stuff everywhere. And the outdoor furniture and patio looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time

Beautiful location house was well equipped and more than met our needs. Only problem was it was very hot a couple of nights with no air conditioning. Would definitely recommend and will plan another trip but not in August

Christmas Holiday 2016

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our 5 night stay in this charming Seattle home. Two couples slept comfortably, one in the main floor Master Bedroom and the other in the basement suite. We entertained a group of 6 on Christmas Eve and a group of 13 on Christmas Day. The kitchen is well equipped (we did take advantage of the extra oven in the basement kitchenette! Such a bonus!!) and though the dining table is not large, we made extra seating around the coffee table and kitchen counter. We enjoyed the furnishings and artful accents throughout the house during our stay. Charming and authentic. Plenty of dishes and nice serving pieces. Nice bed linens, cushy bath towels & a blow dryer, but don't forget to pack your own shampoo & lotions & potions.

Sadly, our busy schedule left no time for the zoo and holiday light show just up the hill, so we will try to work that into our next December visit. We did, however, greatly appreciate easy access to shopping and conveniences in Wallingford/Fremont and Ballard. Very easy access to I-5. Pretty quick jaunt to shopping in University Village for last minute Christmas gifts. Overall, a perfect location for us. We never felt like we were wasting time on the road! Ideal!

Owner communications were clear and easy to follow. The house is truly, "as described." Street parking for our rental car was never an issue.

Summer visitors will really enjoy the beautiful backyard patio spaces. Very nice.

Overall, we highly recommend this sweet space.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

This house felt like home. Two kitchens and the basement that allowed complete family separation came in handy when some wanted early quiet time. The main kitchen was really utilized as we prepped for a party elsewhere. The areas recently remodeled are tasteful and comfortable.

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

We came to spend some time here as a family. We enjoyed our stay here. The home is very comfortable. Plenty of space, clean linens and towels. Kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes etc. The Owner was very nice and kept in touch with me throughout our stay checking to see if we needed anything. We would recommend this property.

Very nice home

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us, we had three generations and we all had separate spaces. The patio was lovely for a quiet after dinner drink. It was a short drive to the city and very conveniently located. We found many cute spots in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay again.
