Casa Amor a la Vida offers a unique opportunity to experience the pulse of San Miguel in the heart of Centro (the city center) while you rest comfortably in a secure, private home behind a gated doorway. Step through the large wooden doors and stroll to the best restaurants, gourmet groceries, attractions, and shopping. At the end of the day, leave the city center and its cares behind as you enter into a luxury home with carved stone fireplaces, high bóveda* ceilings, and colonial-style architecture. Experience the true joy of indoor/outdoor living with al fresco dining off the dining room, curl up with a book on the balcony off the living room and take the private elevator to the colorful rooftop terrace to relax under the stars with a panoramic view of all the iconic structures of San Miguel de Allende.
*Bóveda is the Spanish word for an arch. It is also the word in Mexican and ancient Spanish architecture and construction, for a long, narrow section of arched brickwork. The living room ceiling is constructed without the brick but with the arch.
LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
Casa Amor a la Vida is located in the historic center of San Miguel and a comfortable stroll to the best dining around whether quaint local cuisine or premium continental fare. Walk four blocks to the Jardin, the city plaza where everyone shows up and everything happens. A few steps from the doorway is the Instituto with its murals, gorgeous views, and Gil Guitterez's Mi Casa restaurant. Art galleries, spa facilities, and shopping are also nearby. Stay in and enjoy a peaceful dip in the pool and relax in the jacuzzi.
YOUR OWN PRIVATE SANCTUARY
Casa Amor a la Vida is a respite from San Miguel's busy Centro. Designed by one of the region's leading architects, Pedro Urquiza, the gated entry opens to soaring archways, colorful flowers, and privacy with security and daytime concierge. This luxury home was designed in the colonial style with travertine counters, stone and iron details, modern appliances including a state of the art water purification system throughout the home. There are stone working fireplaces in the living and dining rooms and also in each bedroom. There is a balcony off the living room and a terrace off of the dining room to extend your living to the beautiful outdoors, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the entire city as well as the flowering roofs of San Miguel. The third floor ensuite bedroom has its own private balcony. Off street parking.
There are romantic chandeliers, working fireplaces, walk in closets and ensuite bathrooms in each bedroom. Each has its own television. Outside of the master bedroom in the den/family/TV room there is a writing desk. There is another desk on the landing between the 2nd and 3rd floor, a perfect place to write, read, draft your novel, and clear your mind.
We suggest flying into the airport in Leon and a driver could pick you up for ~$80 US plus tip. The housekeeper, Miguelina, comes three times a week and for a nominal extra fee will shop and cook breakfast and lunch. There is a concierge on site who is available for your needs and information during the day. Although we do not anticipate you will have any problems, the management company is right around the corner and available immediately to address whatever arises. There is also secure parking and the home is handicap accessible except for a small step from the driveway. There is WIFI, heat, a laundry room, and a state of the art kitchen.
