Edinburgh is not only my home town but also where we were married many years ago. We still have friends and family members living in and around the city. We have two married grown up daughters who are based in Southern England and four wonderful grandchildren. We all try to visit Edinburgh when we can. Although we now also live in the South, we have excellent housekeepers (actually an aunt and uncle) who enjoy looking after our apartment and guests. We are experienced property renters and owners and our homes are well cared for and maintained to an extremely high standard. So whether you are family, friends or new or returning guests everyone is assured of a warm Scottish welcome.

Why Lynn Lambert chose New Town
We came across our apartment some years ago during one of our many visits to Edinburgh. It was for sale in a 'needs modernisation and updating' state and just around the corner from where we had our very first apartment when we were married in 1979. Being able to retrace our footsteps around Edinburgh - a great city that we love - is very special. We set about upgrading it but keeping all the wonderful Georgian details. Sadly, due to other commitments, we don't use it as much as we used to and therefore are very happy to now share it with our guests, family and friends. Its location and facilities are second to none enabling everyone who visits to relax in a gorgeous, huge apartment for the price of a small, bland hotel room.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our apartment is so spacious - the entrance hall gives you the feeling of stepping into a grand Georgian country house. We love the period details, the high ceilings and looking out into Georgian Edinburgh from the front room and doorstep. We have been able to modernise and upgrade in a sensitive way. Its location, so close to all that Edinburgh City Centre has to offer, is also a huge plus and there are also so many great restaurants and pubs nearby to suit all budgets.

Our second stay, just as good as the first
This is a spectacular rental property -- in a highly desirable neighborhood and beautifully furnished. What made it exceptional is the thoughtful hospitality of its owners. They anticipated our every need and provided for it: bread, butter, eggs, and espresso coffee -- not to mention wine and whiskey. We are looking forward to another visit some day.
India Street is simply stunning. By far one of the loveliest VRBOs we have ever rented. The flat looks like a posh designer showcase - what a treat to call it home. The owners thought of everything (they even stocked the kitchen with breakfast items, tea, coffee & wine) and they were extremely attentive to our needs. The flat is in New Town and is an easy 20 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle/royal Mile. Great location. We loved staying in New Town. Beautiful!!!!
Edinburgh home away from home
We had a very comfortable stay in this lovely flat for 5 nights. The flat is spacious and very well furnished. Our host provided all the basics needed for breakfasts and snacks. The location was in walking distance of good restaurants and shops.
What a time we had!
We spent 8 glorious nights at this property. And oh, what a time it was!
This apartment couldn't be more lovely in every possible way. The apartment itself is chic, comfortable and welcoming. From the two extremely clean and well-appointed bathrooms, to the fully stocked kitchen, this apartment had it all. Comfortable bed, large living room with two sofas and plenty of natural light: we felt extraordinarily relaxed here.
The location is superb! Just a short walk to the charming area of Stockbridge which is stock full of fantastic restaurants and shops, including the well-regarded cheese establishment, I. J. Mellis.
And then there was Lynn, the owner! She was a true guiding light for us in terms of offering many fine suggestions on what to do in Edinburgh, particularly in regards to restaurant recommendations. Edinburgh might consider putting Lynn on the payroll for pointing tourists in the right direction. She would not disappoint.
I also greatly appreciated how efficient Lynn was in getting back to me with answers to my many questions.
This apartment is a true gem. Don't hesitate to book! Hopefully, we will be back one day on India Street to enjoy the Scottish hospitality that is this apartment's trademark. Aye!

This property and the owners delivered on a wonderful stay for us in May. The apartment is efficiently located outside the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh but within easy walks or short taxi ride to most attractions . Both apartment and owners are a class act

Situated in a quiet position, in the very heart of the Edinburgh New Town, it is so close to everything the city has to offer. India Street is within walking distance of Edinburgh’s main entertainment, shopping and cultural facilities and all manner of restaurants and bars. It is one of Edinburgh's most gracious streets, running in a north/south direction down from Heriot Row. During your stay the local public transport systems provide access to all parts of the city and beyond. Taxis are plentiful and there are even rickshaws should you wish to hitch a ride.
