About Mark or Betsy Tomaszewski

The Evergreen Cottages property is a family owned and operated vacation rental business. Happily owned and operated by the Tomaszewski family. We are a home schooling family and we live here on the property. Mark and Betsy have lived in the Bozeman/Livingston area for thirty-four years. We are an active family that enjoys all that the surrounding area has to offer; hunting, hiking, camping, exploring, four wheeling, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, etc. Mark is an award winning, remodeling contractor and a former home inspector in this area. Betsy migrated to Montana from southern Connecticut in 1982 after earning her college degree in Business Administration. Our children are working very closely with us on this project and are responsible for many aspects of making the vacation rentals an awesome experience for our guests.

Mark or Betsy Tomaszewski purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Mark or Betsy Tomaszewski chose Yellowstone Country

We love to own and operate our own businesses. As a couple and as parents of two bright young adults, we chose to buy this property after looking for several years for a business that we could own and operate together as a family. We love the Bozeman/Livingston area. When you arrive here as our guests you will understand why we chose this location. It is awesome. We have 2.5 heavily wooded acres about four miles from town and at the entrance to the Paradise Valley, one of the more scenic valleys in Montana. Plus, we are an easy fifty mile drive to Gardiner Montana, the Northern entrance of Yellowstone Park.

What makes this cottage unique

Proximity to town, to the interstate highway, to Bozeman, to hunting and fishing. All are wonderful benefits our guests can enjoy.

Our cottages are comfortable for a short stay or year around living.

cottage stay in July 2017

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Livingston. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. The cottage was supplied with all kitchen appliances and the grocery store was less than 10 minutes away. This saved us a lot of money on fast food and restaurants. There was plenty of room for our family to sit, relax, and play board games. The cottage was in immaculate condition which was comforting in itself. The cottage has a secure locking system and we never worried about someone entering our cottage. The owners have chickens and horses and were so kind to offer fresh eggs from the chickens and allow us to pet the horses. The family is truly kind and had many adventurous ideas for us while we were there. All in all it was a good stay and with the cottage being centrally located we were able to be less than 45 minutes from all of our activities. The only reasons I did not give is a 5 star rating is listed below.

A couple things I was not happy with:

Very small shower - as a woman it was very hard to shave my legs or move around .

No air conditioning. I was not aware of this and would have considered strongly not to stay do to my son and I have severe asthma and humidity have cause our attacks at times. However, the house did remain at a very comfortable temperature especially at night while sleeping. The air off the river helped a lot.

No TV - on rainy nights we wanted to have the opportunity to watch a movie or show. We were lucky to bring many family games to fill this time which was more memorable. I would suggest to the owners to supply some games and cards for other families that might not remember to bring them.

Proximity to other cottages was way too close. I feel the pictures were a bit misleading in this. The first night we did not get much sleep because the children in the cottage next to us were crying and screaming most of the night. When we did finally fall asleep a huge truck came down the drive path spraying plants and was extremely loud. I live in the city and our intent was not to be this close to people. We stayed in a place a couple years ago located in the mountains and we were no closer than 3 acres from other people. That was perfect as we were able to venture outside more and had peace and quiet.

If what I have listed does not bother you I would absolutely say without a doubt that you would enjoy your stay here. The family was very friendly and welcoming!

Wonderful accommodations and beautiful scenery!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay and hope to return again sometime. Betsy has done a great job making the cabin warm and welcoming. We also liked the easy access to Livingston so if you don't want to cook you can go out to eat.

Betsy was very gracious and made us feel at home. We had wonderful fresh eggs from their chickens

  • 4 of 5

And beautiful fresh flowers on the kitchen counter. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessities. The only difficulty we had was the shower head , it's up to high and makes it difficult to rinse off and shave your legs. The Queen mattress was extremely uncomfortable but the twin beds were great!! The grounds were beautiful, well kept and quiet and we loved hearing the Yellowstone river at night as we fell asleep. Thank you Betsy and Mark for sharing such a beautiful piece of Livingston with us. Bob and Tracey

We couldn't have asked for better hosts and more comfortable lodging! The entire host family pitches in to make your visit in Livingston great. Oh...did I mention fresh eggs gathered from their backyard for breakfast? We had a great time and will return again for sure! Becky & Larry
