Great for a relaxing weekend
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paddocks Cottage. Sarah stayed in touch and although we didn’t meet, she was on hand should we have needed anything. The breakfast hamper and afternoon tea were very welcome - a lovely touch. The property is quite rural, and the peace and quiet were exactly what we wanted. That said, there is a lovely pub within walking distance, and plenty of other pubs a short drive away. Lots to see and do in the local area, great for walking and we were lucky to have a window of good weather to do Golden Cap :) Would highly recommend.
A little sanctuary
A beautiful location, with lots of quiet. Minutes away from downtown Bridport where plenty of shops and restaurants awaited. The coast was about 20 or 30 minutes away. Just beware of the narrowness of the farm roads if you are not used to them. For two people staying, there was plenty of space. The water pressure in the shower was excellent! The hosts, Rodney and Sarah, were very friendly and readily available should they be needed. A delicious cream tea with a refrigerator stocked with some standard but important breakfast supplies greeted us, as well as an adorably energetic dog that only added to my delight. Such a wonderful and needed time, I was sad to leave.
Paddocks cottage, Broadoak, Dorset
A lovely cottage annex set in a peaceful setting, Paddocks Cottage offers comfortable and cosy accommodation in the heart of rural west Dorset. Sarah and Rodney are great hosts being friendly and welcoming but also allowing their guests privacy and peace. The sun filled patio is a glorious place to sit at breakfast time listening to the birds and bees and just relaxing in this tranquil place. We also loved making friends with the dogs and shamelessly encouraged them visiting! On arrival, we found a most welcome cream tea waiting and also bread, eggs, butter etc just right for the first day’s breakfast. The little touches mean the most and it was a joy to return to the cottage after a long and enjoyable day exploring, to a posy of fresh cut sweet peas waiting by the door! We enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend this cottage wholeheartedly.
Welcoming, Friendly, Charming, Quiet.
Lovely little self contained 1 bed getaway. Everything you need for a self catering break. A bit remote, but that’s not always a bad thing IMO. Would definitely stay there again.
A delightful, comfortable and cosy cottage. Well equipped. Wonderfully kind proprietors who provided a welcoming breakfast and delicious scones.
A peaceful setting and a fantastic base to explore beautiful West Dorset.
We would definitely stay here again.
A stunning location and the most beautiful cottage with friendly , helpful owners
We were looking for a last minute short break and happened upon this gem. A wonderful home away from home with all we could have needed or wanted. Sarah provided a gorgeous cream tea on arrival and a lovely selection of breakfast goods.
The cottage was immaculately clean and so comfortable.
We loved being able to sit outside and listen to the birds whilst watching the bees. The views just seem to stretch out in front of you and being able to sit in bed with a cup of tea and watch the clouds roll across the sky was stunning - we even had a buzzard come and sit on the telegraph pole in front of us.
If you are looking for a comfortable, well proportioned cottage for a peaceful break this is for you.
Thank you - you made us feel very welcome. We will be happy to recommend.
Thank you for your kind review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were able to appreciate what a very special place we are privileged to live in. Hopefully we shall host you again.
