Overview

About the property

Live In Quiet Luxury Like A Real New Yorker

This large studio with patio in a second-floor, pre-war walkup sleeps two in a comfy, new, queen-sized mattress with pure cotton sheets. A top-of-the-line inflatable mattress will accommodate a third person.

This apartment is not for people who want to make noise. The neighbors downstairs have an infant daughter who needs to be able to nap.

The apartment offers a respite from the hubbub that is located a few steps from the building's front door. A few blocks north, you will find KoreaTown's multitude of gustatorial offerings, the Morgan Library's architectural and literary gems, the Empire State Building's majestic presence and remnants of what used to be known as Ladies' Mile on 5th Avenue. A few blocks south you will find Madison Square Park and the Flatiron Building.

Note that it can be noisy on weekdays. Construction on a nearby building begins at 7 a.m. and ends in mid-afternoon.

Clean and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to NYC earlier than expected and Tom was great, he wasn't around but still very helpful and communicated quickly and efficiently. The apartment was very clean and perfect for my girlfriend, 12 year old niece, and myself. Only suggestion would be a slightly better pillow for the person on the sofa. Regardless, I will be staying here again during my next NYC adventure.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the note. The pillow on the sofa is not intended for the third guest. There is a blowup mattress in the ottoman and extra pillows and linens in the closet and the ottoman. Tom

Exactly fit our needs

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for two people. The bathroom was scrupulously clean, kitchen fully functional with granite and a big sink. The bed was comfy and clean. Nice surprise was the very large terrace off the back, which would be perfect in summer. We were in 2B on the backside of the building. While we could hear city noice and there is major construction going on right next door, we didn't have any trouble sleeping. Friends had 4A on the front and a bit noisier. Go with 2B!!

We got pizza delivery nearby. Close to a subway. Well located to food, transit, safe walking. 100% recommend. Tom Watkins was very easy to work with. Booking was a breeze. Will definitely stay again.

Inside the apartment is great, within walking distance to most things, great balcony

  • 4 of 5

We had a little issue checking in, but they were quick to respond and rectify the situation. The building itself is a bit worn and when you first walk into the building the garbage/recycling cans are right there. There is a lot of construction going on around the building right now, so it does get noisy pretty early in the morning. (its NY, totally normal). We left the fan on in the bathroom and in the living room to drown the noise a bit. Some of the units are where people live, so they were up and out early and could be a little noisy in the mornings.

Eataly is close by for great food to pick up and bring back, or you can have food delivered from about anywhere around. Bed is comfortable. TV is easy to use. Kitchen had everything we needed. Balcony was great. Nice for a cup of coffee in the morning or for dinner at night. The first day they brought us some extra items for the bathroom, it would have been nice to have a text or call that they would be entering. Overall, great location, great set up, felt safe with the double entry locked doors. Would stay here again.

Great location! Very responsive owner! True New Yorker experience!

  • 5 of 5

The great location of this apartment was perfect for our stay in NYC. We really enjoyed the true New Yorker experience you get with this apartment. This apartment is exactly what you need for a stay in NYC. The entire apartment is updated appropriately. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are ample. The hardwood floors are a nice touch. The balcony was very enjoyable, and it looks out at an historic church - you are able to get fresh air in the morning before you head out for the day, and before you go to sleep. We met Tom the owner, and he is a very kind, accommodating host. Tom was extremely responsive, and will answer any questions you may have at any time. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, teen daughter, and I stayed for three nights. It was a great neighborhood within a couple of minutes of the Empire State Building and hop on/hop off tour bus that we used. We felt safe here and arrived from the country so that is saying a lot for us. Tom is very informative and we couldn't ask for a better experience.

Car: not necessary

A short stroll north of Madison Park, this apartment will doubtless give you an opportunity to live like a real New Yorker in a walkup apartment in the center of the city with a beautiful patio out back overlooking a famous church. Please note that this is not for parties or guests who want a place to make loud noise. The neighbors downstairs have an infant daughter who needs to be able to nap.
