The farmhouse is immersed in the Pontine countryside dominated by the Ausoni and Aurunci mountains, between Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo and Terracina, a town to which it belongs and which jealously preserves the extraordinary testimonies of its history, a heritage at the complete disposal of the cultured and curious tourist.
The City of Terracina is located in the Agro Pontino, near the mouth of the Amaseno river, on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Gulf of Gaeta. It develops from a branch of Monte Sant'Angelo (Monti Ausoni), where lies the historic center, up to the Circe promenade.
The town was an Etruscan possession, a stronghold of the volsci and then a Roman holiday resort.
The historical center develops around the main square, the ancient Foro Emiliano (1st cent. TO. C. - I sec. D. C.), where you can still see parts of the Capitolium, the Augustan paving of the Town Hall Square and the remains of the Theater, while in the lower part of the city you can admire the evidence of the ancient port.
On the peak of Monte Sant'Angelo, the last offshoot of the Ausoni mountains that reaches the Tyrrhenian Sea, stands the Temple of Jupiter Anxur (1st cent. TO. C.), on whose slopes passes the ancient Via Appia, which connected Rome to Capua. The Roman Temple, became the symbol of Terracina and protected since 2000 as a natural monument, and from which you can enjoy a view that goes from the Gulf of Gaeta to the epic promontory of Circeo to see the islands of Ponza, Ventotene and the reserve natural of Palmarola. In the Middle Ages the Cathedral of S. was erected Cesareo, which preserves evident traces of the pagan temple on which it was built, the Venditti palace, the Torre Frumentaria, the medieval tower of the walls, the tower-house of Via SS. Four, the Gothic Domus of Piazza Cancelli, the Church of S. Giovanni, the Church of the Madonna delle Grazie, the Church and the convent of S. Domenico, the Frangipane castle, the church and the convent of S. Francesco, the Church of the Annunciation. Among the monuments of the modern age: Palazzo Braschi, Palazzo Greggi, Porta Romana, Palazzo Vitelli, Church of Purgatory, Palazzo del Vescovado, Palazzo della Bonificazione Pontina.
Terracina offers its tourist one of the most beautiful and popular beaches on the Lazio coast. In its three kilometers of extension there are numerous bathing establishments equipped for all sports and a promenade lined with trees along a new cycle path.
A few kilometers from the beach there is the marina where daily ferries and hydrofoils leave for the island of Ponza, from which you can reach the other Pontine islands
Art and history but also wonderful landscapes, rock, sea and uncontaminated green make Terracina a place also suitable for sport lovers. It is possible to enjoy excursions immersed in nature, thanks to the well-traced paths present in the main naturalistic points, to enjoy bike rides and, for those who do not want to give up games with friends, equipped facilities such as soccer fields and tennis clubs.
For the more daring, possibility of scuba diving, sailing and climbing on Mount Leano.
Terracina offers its tourist typical dishes of the seafaring tradition. Renowned are its wines: Moscato di Terracina, Casanese and Aleatico. The large cultivation of vegetables and fruit in the greenhouse is also interesting, thanks to the fertility of its land. Numerous events and open-air concerts enliven the town even at night.
