The property is very well located but it doesn’t say it’s underground! Under a restaurant subway, Very dirty! Noisy! No way to sleep! It’s good for students who won’t stay in the apartment, spend the day Out late and come late just to sleep. But it’s not good for families! I tried to complain to home away to change but nobody helped me.
Horrible- Nothing as Represented - other than location
I rented this flat for 10 days and the basic necessities and conditions were completely unacceptable. We had no hot water for the first 4 days of our rental. No alternative shower accomodations were provided. The bed collapsed twice while my daughter was sleeping due to over half of the bed slats being missing. Neither of the two TV’s worked at all. The flat was filthy. The very large roof skylight of the main bedroom was covered with cigarette butts, empty cigarette cartons, plastic utensils, dirt, leaves. The back porch was filthy and an eyesore causing us to keep the curtains closed the entire trip.
The flat was not supplied with the basics: no bath mats (just tile floors), no wash cloths, no oven mitt, no dish towels, no paper towels,no garbage bags, no Kleenex, no dishwasher tablets, no dish soap, no extra toilet paper, no blankets...all for a 10-day stay.
The karaoke bar next door blasted Katy Perry from 10pm until 2am every night.
This unit is owned by a management company rather than an individual. These issues were communicated with the management company on our first day of check in. The listing agent Sara B agreed with the extent and severity of the problems and assured me the problems would be corrected. I followed up on day 2 and again on day 4, I actually went to their offices (for the second time as they did not respond to email or phone calls) to find out how and when they planned to fix the many problems. At that time, I was told that “Work orders had been placed...but problems can’t be fixed overnight.” At that time I was told I was due and would receive a significant portion of my rental payment as a refund. None of the issues were resolved when we checked out on day 10...and we had received no communication from Sara B. We checked out on June 28th. I have now sent 3 emails and called twice and have received no response regarding my refund. I am now left with no choice but to hire an attorney to obtain a refund given I spent over $6,500 for that awful experience.
