Second time here - still great!
This was our second time staying in this flat, exactly a year after the first. We feel so comfortable in this cozy home-away-from-home! The roomy living-dining area allows us to spread out and relax after a day out, the kitchen is well-equipped and sparkling clean (although I don't think the oven is connected as I tried to use it unsuccessfully), and the beds are very comfortable. I was pleased to see a grab bar in the bath this year! There is a high step to get into it, which I commented on last year, and I was so happy to see that Heritage Apartments had made the improvement! The location couldn't be better - a three-minute walk to the Underground, Waitrose, and Boots. In addition, it's quiet and secure, with front desk staff on duty round the clock. We love this flat and would stay again. Definitely recommended!
Would Stay Again
Great location - close to Gloucester tube station, 2 grocery stores, and several great places to eat. No carpeting was great for my allergies. Nice kitchen with appliances and cookware that I used daily - only missing a garbage disposal. FYI that appliance guides are in bottom drawer in kitchen if you aren't sure how to use them.
I quickly got used to the train close by - it's more of a quick rumbling noise and never affected my sleep. All rooms have heavy doors that help limit noise from other people staying with you. Rarely heard any noise from other tenants.
Great view of city and nice patio. Furniture was comfortable for hanging around at night. We had one issue and manager addressed it quickly. We spent hours trying to find a place to stay and ended up here. I'm glad we did, and I would happily stay here again.
Location and value!!
This is an excellent location for the price. The same flat just walking distance down the street towards South Kensington would be far more expensive. 5 min door to Gloucester Road tube. Walk to V and A, Royal Albert Hall, Nat History Museum. The view was fabulous. Extremely safe building. We would recommend and rent again. 5 people to one bathroom was a bit challenging but we made it work. Any small problems were easy to overcome (like buying ice as there was no icemaker.)
I do want to say the tube noise is real. Three lines pass directly under the apartment and they start early and go late. That being said, I found the noise somewhat soothing and I would not say it impeded my sleep at all. It was warm so we slept with the windows open and I still was able to sleep. With the windows shut shouldn't even really notice the noise.
Room with a view
We were very pleased with this rental. It looks exactly like the photos. We did not know that it was on the 9th floor of this apartment building but that was the best part. The views of east London were amazing. Every night we could see all,the lights of the city. The kitchen was great and the rooms were spacious.
However, one concern that I am noting is that the unit has a washer/dryer combo. However, my husband was washed some socks, T-shirt’s, etc and after four one hour cycles, the clothes were still not dry. He found a clothing rack in the utility closet and had to dry his clothes that way. This is not convenient for travelers who do not want to spend time in an apartment doing laundry. The washer/dryer combo needs to be replaced. Also the twin beds in the second bedroom have a dip in the middle of them. The mattresses are worn out.
With that said, we would rent this unit again the next time we’re in London. Centrally located on Cromwell Rd., it’s literally a 5 min walk to the Gloucester underground station, several restaurants, a bank, and two main markets. Two tube stops and you’re at Harrods. Excellent apartment!
Great location and flat.
This location is perfect for getting to all London locations. The flat is clean and modern. Heritage Apartment Rentals is easy to work with and very accommodating. The building is safe and secure.
Great apartment, great neighborhood
This is a very nicely situated apartment which suited our family of 5 perfectly for our weeklong stay in London. It is about 2 blocks from the Gloucester Road tube station, in between two grocery stores, and walking distance to nearly countless lovely restaurants. The management staff were very flexible about meeting us to let us into the apartment when our flight was delayed. And they were quickly responsive to a handful of questions I had prior to our arrival. The views from the apartment were lovely and while the unit does not have air conditioning, we were quite comfortable at night with the windows open. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.
Head over to Kensington, London’s museum quarter and the home of world-class museums, bars, pubs and restaurants. South Kensington is home to a rich cultural heritage with London’s best cluster of free museums (Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum) as well as iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and Gardens and Kensington High Street.
Kensington Gardens adjoin another Royal Park and one of London’s most recognisable landmarks, Hyde Park. The two parks cover a large area and are home to numerous cafe’s, the Serpentine Gallery and The Serpentine and Long Water lake. Hire a pedal boat, take a dip in the summer or just relax enjoying a green oasis in the heart of the capital.
Gloucester Road Station is on the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines with easily accessible travel across the capital. Heathrow airport is accessible in around 40 minutes via a tube with the London Eurostar terminus at St Pancras station approximately 15 minutes away.
