Newly created, 3 ensuite bedrooms, quiet location but close to amenities
- english, french
We have lived in Puivert since 2015. We loved the location of the property and felt that we could achieve our dream of running a Gite here. We have done a lot of work to the property by creating three ensuite bedrooms and comfortable and spacious living accommodation for our guests. We are originally from London and worked in Marketing and HR.

Why Owner chose Puivert
We fell in love with the location of the house and the village of Puivert. It has a great 'feel' to it and really is like living in two different places, quiet and peaceful in the winter and having a real 'buzz' in the summer. The people are very friendly and we love that you can go in any direction from the village and find places of interest and vastly contrasting scenery.
What makes this House unique
Our gite is custom built so that our guests can enjoy luxury shower rooms, pretty bedrooms with big comfy beds and your own private patio with bistro table and chairs leading onto the garden. Our garden room is perfect as a sunny breakfast room and the spacious living area and well equipped kitchen make it ideal for family or friends of all ages. Being all on one level it is also ideal for the young and the young at heart! The views from the house are amazing with the Chateau de Puivert in one direction and the foothills of the Pyrenees in the other.

The lac de Puivert is right next door to the property. This is family friendly area with man made beach and lifeguard supervision in high season. There are two restaurants and plenty of picnic areas. There is also a children's play area. In July and August there is a weekly night market at the lake and an annual firework display that attracts many visitors. The Chateau de Puivert overlooks the village and is worth a visit. It shares a history with the other cathar castles in the area. The Musee du Quercorb in the Centre of the village is also of interest providing an insight into medieval music. The GR7 or 'Sentier Cathar' runs through Puivert and offers walkers some spectacular scenery. There are also numerous VTT routes for keen cyclists in this area and we can help with arranging bike hire if required. Puivert has a gliding club too and we can arrange pleasure flights or lessons - just let us know.
