Sarasota and Siesta Key is the home of beautiful beaches and upscale shopping, parks, museums, and plenty of activities for adults and children. St. Armand's Circle, described as a "mini Rodeo Drive," has plenty of outdoor shopping at beautiful high-end stores. There is also the new UTC Mall.
The beaches of Siesta Key are world-renowned. The pure quartz, pulverized to a fine white powder, has a magical quality. There is no sand quite like Siesta's anywhere.
Siesta Key itself is located on the pristine shores of the Gulf of Mexico, across the bay from mainland Sarasota. Siesta Key is the perfect destination for a holiday, a season, or a lifetime.

Beach Access 12 is located to the left as you leave Bay Oaks and is only a 10 minute walk (1/2 mile.) Not many people know about this. It is at the intersection of Stickney Point and Midnight Pass. It is less busy, yet still quaint and beautiful.
At the southern end of Siesta Key is Turtle Beach. The sand is a bit coarser and the beach drops off more dramatically, but that means the snorkeling and shelling is better. Turtle Beach has no lifeguards, but there’s free parking with picnic tables, a playground, showers and restrooms. It may not be as popular as Siesta Beach, but if you can’t find a parking space at Siesta Beach, Turtle Beach will have plenty available.
Johnny's Free Ride is a service that you can call to pick you up and drive you all over Siesta Key and takes TIPS ONLY. They are very reliable and a great source of transportation to bring you to the Village for dinner, drinks, and shopping, and not have to worry about driving home or getting a parking spot in the Village. They will also pick you up with your beach chairs and take you to the beautiful Siesta Beach, #1 Beach in the U.S. 2015, although there is also FREE parking there. It is located 1 mile from Bay Oaks.
