About Wendy Strine

We purchased this property in 1982 to increase the vineyard acreage of our growing farm business. We raised beef cattle for a number of years but eventually made a complete change over to fruit and produce. We now raise apples, peaches, grapes, pears and chestnuts for fresh market sales and three varieties of grapes for local wineries and processors. We have four children and have been blessed with six grandchildren. Our LLC was created in 2014 as we prepare to transition the business to our oldest son and his wife over the next few years. We are active members of our local church and do our best to honor God with the way we run our business, we recognize that it is by His goodness & provision alone that we have any ability to work for ourselves. We welcome you to the Vineyard House and hope you enjoy your time here.

Awesome place for girl's weekend.

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time in this country home. It was very warm and humid outside, but the three window air conditioners kept the whole place very comfy. Water has a little sulfur taste but not too bad. Filtration water pitcher provided if you don't like the water. Wendy is an awesome person to deal with. Great place. Highly recommend.

Charming old farmhouse.

  • 4 of 5

Nice old farmhouse with the little quirks that go with it. Front and side porches were great for sitting, the swing has a view of lake erie. Queen beds are comfortable as is the living room. Wendy and Art stopped by to make sure we didn't need anything. Very nice people. Centrally located to many of the area's wineries. Also the sound of the trains going by will put you right to sleep at night.

Quick trip made easy.

  • 5 of 5

Family of 6 went to North East for graduation dinner and a house suited our needs better than a hotel. Reached out to the owner, Wendy, who responded immediately and made reserving her home super easy.

We only used the home for sleeping but it met our needs. Upon arrival we were greeted with homemade bread and concord jam both of which were delicious. We did not experience the water smell that others indicated. Water tasted and smelled fine. Would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay

  • 4 of 5

The home was easy to find. Wendy was very helpful upon our arrival! The home is very clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home. There were 3 of us that stayed and we had a wonderful time. The other girls did fine with the well water. I struggled with it. Just a nose that is too sensitive!! Thanks for your hospitality!

Lovely STay at Arwen Farms Vineyard House

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the Arwen Farms Vineyard House in Ripley, NY mid-August. There were 5 people in our party. This house was very comfortable - had a great usable kitchen, nice bathroom, bedrooms were comfy, and the living room was very welcoming. The house did have window A/C units - which were much appreciated, as the weekend we were there was rather hot.

The only comment I have is that this house is supplied by well water - and it is very, very smelly. My recommendation is that visitors to this property bring plenty of bottled or filtered water for cooking, coffee, or drinking.

The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owner provided excellent service. I managed to blow a fuse in the bathroom when blow drying my hair. Not to worry - they had multiple outlets to chose from - but I simply emailed the owner and she and her husband where there in no time flat to reset the breaker/fuse.

I would recommend this property to my friends - but I would have to make them aware of the well water.

We chose this property because of it's proximity to Lake Erie and local wineries. We were only about 40 minutes from Budny Beach on Presque Isle (Lake Erie). It is mostly all interstate - and a very easy commute.

Charming home, nestled in the vineyards

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this home. The view from the front porch is wonderful. There is a nice tree on the front of the home with a swing. When you sit on it, you feel the gentle breeze and you can see the Lake Erie far away. My family and I loved watching sunsets from the swing in the evenings. It was so relaxing. This home is nestled in acres and acres of grape vines. So the view is beautiful - such a bucolic setting.

This home is not far from the Presque Isle State park and other attractions.

The home had a TV, cable, wifi connection etc. So we had no issues. It has a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer.

The owners stay close by. They are very nice. My kids wanted to taste some farm fresh peaches and Mrs. Wendy was so generous to share some fresh peaches from her farm. They were so juicy and tasty. My kids really remember their generosity.
