Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom Loft-style house in walkable small-town on the Southside of Atlanta

This new listing is a newly-remodeled, modern zen-cottage, minutes from ATL airport and a short-drive from Downtown Atlanta's attractions & business center. Enter the private gate & as you step over the short bridge crossing the goldfish pond with fountain, you leave cares of the outside world behind.

This unique house is truly a 1-of-a-kind. It's an open-concept floor plan with white concrete floors and lots of windows that open to the private courtyards that surround it.

The kitchen area has a fridge, dishwasher and stove, with plenty of granite countertop space for preparing food & beverages.

A garden-room with brick floor gives the feeling of being outside with the comfort of being in. Sliding glass doors open to a shady, private courtyard with a zen-garden & plenty of morning birds.

Up the spiral stairs to the sleeping area.

The bathroom has a sleek, tiled shower and a small, clawfoot-tub. If you need to wash clothes, drop them down the chute to the laundry/1/2 bathroom below.

About Jeff Hartnett

I'm originally from New York. I'm a public school special ed teacher who came to Atlanta after starting my career, teaching in Haiti. That sparked my enjoyment of traveling to new places and appreciation of the simpler things in life.

I came to Atlanta over 25 years ago & have seen this city grow & become more pedestrian-friendly. I love College Park, and live a few blocks from the Zen-house.

Jeff Hartnett purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Jeff Hartnett chose Southwestern

I've owned this house as a rental property for years, but when time came for a total renovation, I wanted to polish it to a peaceful spot that others could enjoy as much as I do.

What makes this cottage unique

The first thing that makes this house very unique is the sound of water that greets you as you open the gate & cross the bridge over the little goldfish pond.

The house is in a great little town with fun places to eat and drink, but close enough to downtown Atlanta & the airport, without the traffic & crowds.

Peaceful, comfortable, and perfect for a weekend get away!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay. Very well appointed home. The beds are firm but comfortable. The spiral stairs are steep but the owner warned us about that ahead of time. There were snacks, coffee, and drinks waiting for us. We would absolutely stay here again.

Sensational Zen Garden Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely LOVED the Sleek Zen Garden House. It is modern - super contemporary; chic interior design - super comfortable; and immaculate - the house was super clean. Everything was first-class! Even though the house is relatively small, there is plenty of room with quiet, cozy nooks, both inside and out. We especially loved sitting next to the gold-fish pond, listening to the babbling stream. What relaxation! And still, the house is so close by to all the activities Atlanta has to offer. Nearby, within walking distance of the house are several terrific restaurants and a great grocery store, in case guests might want to cook in (the kitchen is marvelous!). The host could not have been more thoughtful. The amenities were amazing! We felt like we were staying in a five-star hotel!

Without a doubt, one of the very best vacation rentals we ever experienced! Reni & Jeff, Ossining New York
