Beautiful private property!
Property was private and beach access and cabana was wonderful! If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. We saw dolphins, stingrays, and a shark right next to the beach. Buy groceries and supplies before arriving. Plan to cook or grill some of the time as restaurants are 20 miles away. The gas grill was out of propane and we had to go to Panacea to refill it. The last person who used it left one of the burners on and emptied the tank. Other than that, the house was fine, not fancy but has everything you need. Definitely a great place for nature lovers!
Close to the beach
Loved that you could step out the back door and be right on the beach. Suited our family's needs. The only down side was the beds were old and squeaky and the sheets and bedspread were old and dated.
I am glad you had a good time... we love it down there. I am not sure I understand your comments about the beds. All three beds- headboards, frames, mattresses, box springs, etc are about a year old. With that said... I know people have different preferences for mattresses, but everything is new and top quality. I checked it out after your review and noticed the bedframe was disconnected from the headboard. This might be why it was squeaky. I've asked our property manager to tighten those bolts so the next guest will not have any issues. If you stay with us in the future, please let me know if something doesn't meet your satisfaction and I will try to address before you leave. Thank you
If you are looking for a rental property near all the action (restaurants, bars, shopping), this place is NOT for you. But if you're looking for a quiet, family getaway to escape then this is it!!! The low-traffic, quiet beach is fantastic and Cabana is PERFECT for getting out of the sun. We'll be back...
Thank you... come back any time!
Perfect location for a relaxing beach vacation
Our party of 5 (3 adults, 2 children age 10 & 12) stayed for a week at Alligator Point. We enjoyed the natural setting and saw lots of wildlife (crabs, birds, a white squirrel, turtles, starfish, stingrays). This is a great place for a quiet vacation-there are no touristy shops here, just a beautiful, almost deserted beach. The beach pavilion was wonderful for escaping the sun to read or nap. the ocean was a bit too choppy for paddle boards or kayaking during our stay, but we did enjoy fishing from the shore. Be aware-the beach has a fair amount of sea grass and the water is not crystal clear, but these things don't bother us. The sand is wonderful, powdery white like sugar, though!
As far as the house goes it is not fancy, but it had a well equipped kitchen, a nice sun porch for gazing at the waves, and a big living area. Bedrooms and bathroom were adequate (mattresses were a bit hard but we slept well anyway). The sun deck on the ocean side of the house was amazing.
We took a side trip to Wakulla Springs State Park-highly recommend the boat ride for nature lovers! This is unspoiled Old Florida at its best! Be sure to check out local seafood restaurants-Poseys is amazing. Also, make sure to stock up on groceries before you come-grocery stores are a good distance away. If your are able to bring bicycles, this is a great way to tour the area including the marina.
The owner, Camp Neel, was very accommodating and gave us good tips for fishing, etc during our stay.
Overall, we had a great, relaxing beach vacation!
Thank you for the kind words... I'm glad you enjoyed our house and the area. Please keep us in mind for future trips.
We loved it.
I love nature and this is the best "natural beach" enviroment I've found - I'm orignially from South Florida and everything's "cleaned up and sanitzed" for the masses. I can't remember when I saw so many stars in the sky - no lights on the beach for sea turtles nesting and no light and activity from commercialism. If you are looking for a great, private, perfect get-away this is it.
BUT, from your home base and traveling out - you'll find: great restaurants (We liked Angelo & Sons - they offer fish any way you like it- not just fried!), and all water activities you could possibly want.
I guess the bottom line is - We are coming back:-}
Thank you so much for the kind words. Please feel free to come back any time!
Cute beach cottage
Quaint little beach cottage with amazing beach front access and views. My family and I, along with our two pups, spent the week and had a wonderful time. Posey's was our favorite restaurants and seems to be a local favorite as well. We visited the gulf specimen aquarium, which was a hit with the kids, then drove over to wakulla springs and took a boat tour. We really enjoyed the seclusion of the beach along with easily accessible, but not overly touristy, activities within driving distance. It was our first visit to Alligstor Point, and we definitely plan to come back. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven!
Thank you!!! Please keep us in mind on your next trip to Florida.
The area is full of unique attractions including Wakulla Springs riverboat rides, Fresh Water Springs, Museum, Panacea Aquarium, Festivals, State Parks, etc.
