Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family has vacationed at lake homes on Keuka Lake a few different times and this was by far our favorite home to stay. As soon as you walk into the home you can tell it is clean and well cared for. David and Nancy even took the time to leave a hand written note along with fresh cut flowers and a bottle of wine. Those little extra touches made the stay even more special. We have two young kids (2 years and 6 years) and they absolutely loved swimming in the lake. The beach area was perfect for them to walk into the water and also look for rock "treasures". The water is extremely clear and in August it was nice and warm! The house had some water floats that we were able to relax on and enjoy as well. We had a couple rainy days but luckily this home has the most wonderful screened in porch so even during the rain, we could enjoy the fresh air on the porch while we played games, read books and just relaxed. The location of the home is great as well. It is close to our favorite Seneca Farm ice cream as well as grocery stores. The parking area was also a huge plus. It has a good size area for parking off the road right close to the house which is also hard to come by for homes on the lake. When our family vacations on Keuka Lake again we won't bother with the house rental search any further we will return to this gem!

Had a lovely stay!

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to Keuka for 20+ years and typically stay in a family home on the other side of the lake and decided to extend our stay this time by renting for another week. Glad we did! Staying on this side of the lake felt so different and like a whole other experience.

The house itself is exactly as described and photographed. I always base my reviews on that alone. And this house delivered. The screened porch was the nicest part of the trip for me. We ate most meals out there, relaxed and read out there, and the breeze was felt all through the main floor. The kitchen was very well stocked, the beds were very comfortable (I bring our own pillows) and the house was quite clean upon arrival. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. I would be happy to stay here again and we hope to next summer.

A couple of other non-house related notes. You are only a few minute drive from Seneca Farms. Believe me, this is awesome. A couple minutes beyond that is Penn Yan which is where the grocery store is and a wonderful coffee shop, Amity, where we spent a few rainy hours. The Flour Shop makes incredible cakes if you're celebrating anything, but be sure to order in advance. Camp Cory is directly across the lake from this rental, so if you have school aged kids they have both day and sleep away camp and you could shuttle them via a boat quite quickly. Don't miss Andy's bbq spot just past Seneca Farms for fresh homemade donuts in the morning. They make them in front of you and you pick the toppings. Lastly, this house faces the sunrise and the dock and decks are shaded by mid-afternoon, but I actually prefer this so I can sit outside longer without getting burned to a crisp.

Thanks to the owners who, despite living right next door, respected our privacy and time and instead just left a nice welcome note, bottle of wine and info on how to reach them should we have needed anything. As introverts, it can feel daunting sometimes to have rental owners wanting to meet you in person upon arrival, give you a tour of the house, show you how to work everything, pop in at random times to make sure all is well and want to do a walk through upon leaving. All of which have happened to us as frequent VRBO'ers and none of which happened here. Much appreciated! We'll be back! :)

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week and truly loved it. It’s obvious the owners care deeply about their property and pay close attention to details. We had everything we could imagine needing and more right at our fingertips. From the great bumpers on the dock for the boat to the spices in the kitchen cabinet. It was perfect!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was wonderful, and we had a great time. It was very comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed, clean, quiet, conveniently close (2.5 mi) to Penn Yan for shopping and restaurants (and ice cream), and isolated from neighbors by trees. It has a large screened porch, 2 decks, large dock and beach. Nancy and David are great hosts. The cottage was perfect for our needs -- coming back next year.

Comfortable, clean, well-organized and equipped cottage and what a view!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very clean when we arrived and the panorama view from the screened porch takes your breath away! All the basics were supplied in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms - well equipped and roomy. The upper deck was shady during the day and the beach and waterfront was very nice - not weedy. We used the fire pit every night. Having A/C in the bedrooms helped us survive the 5 day heat wave plus there are ceiling fans everywhere including two on the porch. The owners go above and beyond to keep this property nicely maintained and comfortable.

Home away from home!

We had a great stay! The house was so cozy and had everything we needed. They thought of everything! It was also spotlessly clean! I would definitely stay here again!
